Introduction

Dispatchers are required to coordinate transport, cars and know where/who has the cars at all times and perform a full range of email, radio and telephone operational duties. They are stationed within the office and must be able to be both responsive and responsible workers. They must be alert and able to easily communicate with the staff.


Fonctions

Under the direct supervision of the Fleet Support the responsibilities are as follow:

 Operate two-way radio to receive and transmit radio and telephone messages to all drivers.
 Determine priority of requests / calls received and assign tasks to appropriate drivers.
 Maintain public dispatch board indicating where all drivers are at all times.
 Schedule work and notify drivers of duty and post assignments and information on a dispatch board.
 Make sure backup drivers are notified of their status.
 Issue regular maintenance on all vehicles to ensure the safety of its passengers.
 Ensure immediate vehicle maintenances are required when necessary
 Record a variety of data and maintain a file of reports, forms, records, complaints, and daily log.
 Keep the assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and out
 Remain abreast of the current security concerns from a variety of sources.
 Coordinate transportation for all VIP visits.


Qualifications réquises

• Computer skills (Excel, Word, Internet)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility to work night shift
• Certificate, diploma in business administration / management or relative field a plus
• At least 3 years of experience in the field in HAITI
• NGO experience
• Previous experience in a job which required communication and customer service skills in fleet operations
• Thorough knowledge of motor pool or fleet operations
• Demonstrate autonomy and capacity to define and manage priorities
• Ability to communicate in English, French and Creole
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural and marginalized environment
• Must be in good state of mental and physical health
