Background:-

UMCOR’ Haiti mission is providing emergency response, as an assistance in the affected regions of Haiti after the Matthew hurricane. Agriculture is one of the sectors most affected by the Hurricane in South department. In other to address the challenges faced by farmers in Agriculture production. One of key area identified is use of traditional methods of crop production resulting in very low crop yield.

In other to bring positive changes in the area of project intervention, UMCOR will enhance the capacity of 8 new Agriculture Technicians through a TOT training aims to follow up the field activities. However UMCOR intends to recruit a consultant to strengthen the capacity of the Agriculture Technicians who will be in charge to replicate the training at the field level in their respective community.

Deliverables:-

• Preparation of brief training module including tools adapted to the capacity building of targeted group. The module should include these three levels: individual (which refers to the competence of individuals), organizational (which refers to the performance of organizations) and institutional (which refers to how to conduct the association as institution). Note that the approach must be practical and appropriate so that farmers can increase their autonomy for a sustainable improvement of agricultural development of the community.
• Delivery of training for 2 working days. There will be 2 sessions and each session comprised of 1 day for 8 Agriculture Technicians.
• Preparation and submission of training report including recommendations for future initiatives.

The medium for provision of training should be in Creole; final report can be submitted in English.

Consultant Profile
The consultant must have the following profile:
• University study in Agronomy/Development Sciences, social science or any relevant field
• Have experience of at least 3-5 years in capacity building training; or teaching at University
• Experience in curriculum development, capacity building training and training tools;
• Have strong experience in the process of organizational development;
• Good capacity to adapt the training at level of the farmers participants;
• Having strong reporting skills
• Strong working knowledge of French, English and Creole;
• Excellent capacity in presentation and communication (writing and speaking).
