PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To accomplish department objectives by managing, planning and evaluating department activities and providing efficient engineering support to maximize efficiencies
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
1. Supervises and manages support personnel as it relates to all projects or related work, establishes performance requirements, clarifies responsabilities for those supervised, conducts performance appraisals and plans for individual employee improvment.
2. Keeps supervisors informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
3. Establishes manufacturing procedures and methods for assembly and fabrication departments.
4. Develops, documents and communicates best practices for all plant florr manufacturing processes.
5. Analyses potential manufacturing process improvments for gains in quality, safety, cost and throughput. Applies a cost benefit analysis to help prioritize opportunities with Senior Director of Manufacturing.
6. Identifies and eliminates constraints in the flow of manufacturing by identifying root cause, creating solutions and taking corrective action.
7. Identifies and elimantes or minimizes non value-added costs.
8. Manages the selection and maintenance of manufacturing software
9. Lays out plant floor in an economical and efficient manner, minimizing component and material transportation time.
10. Establishes and maintains routing and manufacturing times that will in turn provide a competitive finished cost.
11. Assists in identifying and reducing or eliminating information gaps that exist in the specifications for each item manufactured
12. Assists in identifying and justifying new equipment and tooling purchases
13. Performs all other work as apparent or assigned
Qualifications Requises
Professional Summary Knowledge:
- Engineering and technology - knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Production and processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, calculus, statistics and their applications
Education:
Candidate must have a four-year bachelor's degree (Industrial Engineer), with extensive work experience (10+ years)
