DAI seeks a Project Logistics Assistant for the 4.5 year USAID Safe Water and Sanitation for Haiti project. The project will be based in Cap Haitien with regional offices in Port-au-Prince and other cities. Its focus will be on increasing access to water and sanitation services in government-identified priority cholera “hotspot” communes and on recovering from cyclical disasters such as Hurricane Matthew. The objective will be achieved through 1) increased access to sustainable water supply services; 2) increased access to sustainable sanitation services; and 3) strengthening the enabling environment for sustainably delivering, operating and maintaining WASH services.


Fonctions

The Project Logistics Assistant will support all logistics-related activities for the USAID Safe Water and Sanitation for Haiti project in the Cap Haitian office. S/he shall ensure that the outlined logistics policies and procedures are implemented; provide and maintain complete and accurate data for all logistics files; and provide support in other areas as necessary and maintain a positive working relationship all staff.

The Project Logistics Assistant will be responsible for the following functions, but not limited to:

FLEET MANAGEMENT
• Manage fleet of drivers;
• Coordinate driver schedules to meet project needs;
• Ensure all drivers follow protocols and project safety and security regulations;
• Coordinate the maintenance of project vehicles; and
• Handle driver overtime requests per DAI and project policies and procedures.


LOGISTICS
• Assist in coordinating with the DAI Home Office for import/export and logistic matters i.e. customs clearing, transportation of equipment to project office/sites;
• Work with the regional offices on logistical matters;
• Prepare and maintain shipments log;
• Manage logistics operations and inventory system;
• Develop and implement the distribution plan for stored equipment;
• Plan storage and warehousing plans;
• Manage the receiving and inspection process along with the Finance and Operations team;
• Assist with evaluation and management of the equipment and supplies requirements of each project;
• Manage logistics support to operations throughout Haiti;
• Manage day-to-day movement of project staff;
• Manage the transportation of property between sites throughout Haiti; and
• Carry out any other relevant duties as requested by Office Manager and Director of Finance and Operations.


Qualifications Requises

• 4-6 years of experience in the logistics or operations field, preferably on a USAID-funded program.
• Thorough knowledge of the logistics process throughout Haiti; knowledge and experience in customs, export/import is desirable.
• Good managerial skills; should have the ability to manage a large pool of drivers and as needed maintenance staff.
• Fluency in French and Haitian Creole; proficiency in English preferred.
• University degree preferred.
