The successful candidate will have proven program experience that includes generating targeted and appropriate information collection, delivering intelligent and insightful analysis, thorough mitigation, decisive action, and ongoing monitoring. The successful candidate will assist the Country Program Manager to ensure that safety and security is seen as an enabling concept that helps us reach the most vulnerable people throughout Haiti. The successful candidate will coordinate or facilitate training to MTIHaiti Staff in safety and security. The candidate will work closely with Country Program Manager when developing assessments, reports in order to build the staff members’ capacity in safety and security
Fonctions
Key responsibilities include:
Support the country team to roll out the global safety and security policy and meet all benchmark within the assigned timeframe.
Assist the country team to develop the safety and security instructions.
Perform tests or simulations of the proposed security plans.
Monitor the safety and security environment;
Meet with other NGO, Government, and UN security offices as needed;
Conduct safety and security field visits to all MTI field sites at least weekly;
Develop written micro and macro level safety and security assessments;
Provide safety and security updates to Regional Office and HQ;
Provide safety and security briefings to visiting personnel immediately upon arrival;
Ensure safety and security is mainstreamed across all operations;
Report safety and security incidents as they occur;
Complete online weekly safety and security incident reporting in coordination with MTI-Haiti Staff;
Prepare monthly program department risk assessment for review by Country Program Manager
Represent MTI at various security forums;
Organize regular safety and security training for all staff and volunteers; and
Produce and maintain risk assessment, and country safety and security instructionThese functions will be done in coordination with the Country Program Manager and other MTI-Haiti Staff as applicable, in order to build capacity within MTI-Haiti relative to safety and security.
Programs support
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Country Program Manager for:
• Haiti Safety and Security Instruction;
• Safety and security support (leadership remains the responsibility of the Country Program Manager);
• Safety and security incident support;
• Ensuring safety and security is mainstreamed across all activities;
• Ensuring relevant and timely information is collected, distributed, and influences decisions; and
• Ensuring all staff and volunteers have and maintain appropriate conduct, competence, awareness, and compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities • None
Additional Responsibilities
• Provide excellent customer service in all contacts with volunteers, colleagues, and the general public
• Maintain close communication with the Humanitarian Response Team in Headquarters (HQ)
• Maintain close communication with HQ Program Manager, Program Coordinators and LAC Regional Director
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience Required:
• At least four years’ experience in a similar position, performing similar tasks as detailed above.
• At least two years’ experience in Haiti working with a humanitarian organization (NGO). • Successful experience in developing partnerships and working with other NGOs.
