The Fonkoze Foundation is a non-profit Haitian institution founded in 1994 by Father Joseph Philippe and a group of grassroots organizations and recognized by public utility since 2005. The mission of the Fonkoze Foundation is to work with its members and with all those who want to work together to enable them to access the financial services and support they need to create more wealth for their families and their communities. To date, the Fonkoze Foundation has more than one hundred employees who provide training and support in more than 20 localities of the country.
Fonctions
The Communication Officer’s main responsibilities include:
- Supporting communications consultant in development of communications strategy
- Ensuring implementation of communications strategy throughout organization, with external stakeholders and public
Essential Functions:
- Assist communications consultant in development of communications strategy
- Ensure compliance of activities with Fonkoze Family’s newly developed communication strategy
- Develop key communications materials in consultation with supervisor
- Coordinate communication activities and events for the Fonkoze Family
- Organize and conduct awareness raising campaigns, events, information dissemination salons & workshops, etc. for target groups
- Work with designer to develop key communications materials
- Take lead in dissemination of communication materials to relevant stakeholders
Qualifications Requises
The individual must conform to the following qualifications:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science/Mass communication
- Ability to work in a team and with tight deadlines at times in a dynamic and fast paced work environment
- Fluent in French, English and Creole
- Knowledge of and experience with communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform via written, oral, and visual media.
- Ability to communicate with people outside the organisation, representing the organisation’s clients, partners, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail
- Proficient in use of computer applications related to the task
- Experience of working with local NGOs, INGOs and government bodies would be an advantage
