USAID-funded U.S.-Haiti AVANSE program works to catalyze inclusive, sustainable economic growth in a potentially highly productive agricultural area.
The program is based in Haiti’s Northern Corridor / Cap-Haïtien and will work to increase agricultural incomes by achieving the following results:
IR 1. Agricultural Productivity Increased;
IR 2. Watershed Stability above Selected Plains Improved;
• Agricultural Markets Strengthened;
The AVANSE project is currently recruiting On-Site Construction Inspector/Observer with experience in irrigation and drainage works.
Fonctions
The On-Site Construction Inspector will perform the following principal functions relating to DAI/AVANSE project construction management and support so as to oversee, guide and report upon Sub-contractor construction implementation. He/she shall undertake the following principal functions on the project assigned:
• Oversee the construction contractor daily works;
• Oversee and manage site safety;
• Oversee and manage construction quality control activities;
• Oversee and manage site environmental compliance;
• Maintain a site diary and photographic log;
• Create, transmit and file daily, weekly and monthly reports including all DAI/AVANSE required Excel report forms as directed; and
• When necessary liaise with government officials, the water user association officers, and the public.
Qualifications Requises
• B.Sc. Graduate, Civil Engineer or 2 Year Technical Diploma Institute – Civil Technician;
• One year of site and office construction inspection/observation experience or three years experience in project M&E activities;
• Ability to read, understand and be trained in QA/QC, H&S and EMMP concepts and procedures;
• Understands and can interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract terms and conditions;
• Knows how to oversee Contractor daily construction sitework;
• Fluent in French (Oral and Written);
• Proficiency in English (Oral and Written);
• Ability to work with engineers, finance, procurement and project management staff including expatriates;
• Some experience working on USAID funded projects would be beneficial
• Good and practical experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Outlook, and can use Android tablets.
