Fonctions
To provide research capacity on a broad range of constitutional issues for the Embassy, writing reports on and creating a repository of background information around the fundamental structures of governance in Haiti.
Research and prepare written reports on:
•Haiti’s recent socio-economic and political development, using supporting statistical data;
•Active political parties in Haiti and leaders, including basic details about each;
•The Haitian Constitutional process and proposals for constitutional reform;
•The Haitian Parliament, its functioning, the Parliamentary committees, their role and purpose as well as a synopsis on the legislative process;
•The main priorities of other donors working with Haiti on governance and how those match the Government of Haiti’s stated intentions;
•Any other relevant tasks as required.
Qualifications Requises
•Recently graduated or currently enrolled in university degree, (if so, preferably final year), in Political Sciences, International Relations, Communication or related subject areas;
•Good knowledge and understanding of the functioning of the Haitian Parliament, Executive and Judiciary.
•Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Haitian Constitution.
•Active interest in public policy and/or politics.
•Good interpersonal and communication skills.
•Strong research, analytical and organisational skills.
•Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines once briefed.
•Strong written and oral communication skills both in French and English.
•Approachability and willingness to learn.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
•Fluency in French, Kreyol & English, both oral and written.
