Introduction

About VFHI: VFHI, established by the Vincentian Family Worldwide (FAMVIN), promotes
development in Haiti. FAMVIN is a living, growing community of more than 2 million people
seeking to follow Christ, the evangelizer of the poor in the model presented by the life of Vincent
de Paul and his collaborator, Louise de Marillac.


Fonctions

Community Development & Special Projects Coordinator
This position reports to the National Coordinator of the VFHI, based in Savane Perdue, La Hoye, Thomonde, HT assisting with the execution of the Haiti Initiative’s outreach programs. The candidate must be a self-starter willing to work at least three-quarters of the time in Savane Perdue, Central Plateau office where all of the projects are located. When not in the Central Plateau, candidate must work effectively remotely. Candidate must be willing to perform community development, marketing, administrative, and support activities in a team centric, start-up, collaborative environment.
Savane Perdue’s service population is approximately 500 families.
General Tasks
Plan & execute community outreach program in support of the VFHI strategic plan. The strategic plan focuses upon economic development through robust programs that work together that create synergies for both economic and human-development; agricultural programs for increased economic movement; and education/schools related programs for human development.
Farmer’s Network
• Research the costs and feasibility of creation of a network of farmers in Savane Perdue to provide products to buyers: e.g. processing plants & Feeding program
• Support network of farmers, grouped to provide raw ingredients for large scale buyers
• Have regular meetings in support of their growth and on-time delivery
• Maintain database for tracking, and progress
Education Program
• Support execution of Education Program for rural schools in Savane Perdue to create strategic advances relating to state standards.
• Support education program that seeks to strengthen the structural environment of the schools by integrating families into school environment.
• Support education feeding program, in collaboration with staff agronomist, by aligning the growing patterns of the Farmer’s network with the needs of the feeding program.
Other Community Development Programs
• Create community development programs as needed to support the ongoing efforts of
VFHI.
• Assist in always necessary for the advancement of the programs.


Qualifications Requises

Basic Qualifications:
▪ Undergraduate degree (Anthropology, Social work, Sociology, Education, or Business
preferred)
▪ At least two years of experience working in the Haitian countryside
▪ Accuracy and attention to detail
▪ Can perform advanced functions in word processing, e-mail/calendar, spreadsheet,
presentation and database software
▪ Knowledge of basic accounting and financial principles and functions
▪ Analyze data and use basic reasoning skills
▪ Flexibility in meeting changing timelines and priorities
▪ Work under pressure as needed and meet deadlines
▪ Multilingual: English and Haitian Creole required and French minimally preferred
▪ Travel internationally, if necessary
