Introduction

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the Project Coordinator supervision, you will be responsible for efficient (quantity and quality) and accountable implementation of employment (career) activities with youth engaged in the project in close collaboration with Catholic Church, local partners and other local entities. You will also ensure the accountable communication with selected communities (Solino and Tesso).


Fonctions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of Jèn Angaje Project Coordinator:
1. Capacity building:
• Hone reading/writing for employment as well as be responsible for liaising with businesses to help place the program participants in gainful employment.

2. Mobilization-Participation:
• Ensure the implementation of youth mobilization and participation to project activities (trainings/coaching on employment)
• Go and visit Haitian-owned businesses to ascertain their needs and find potential job slots for program participants.
• Engage with IDEJEN, TECHO and other technical training to work programs in Haiti to better understand their successes and constraints, and to make a chart of opportunities available to youth as well as what gaps exist.

3. Communication/Collaboration/Involvement:
• Ensure transparent and proactive and transparent communication with community resident, project participants as well as Catholic Church representatives and ensure their strong involvement in all steps of the project.

4. Management/Administration/Finance:
• Support Project by providing, upon request and according to the prescribed deadlines, all activities reports or any other required administrative/financial documents.


Qualifications Requises

TYPICAL BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENT:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in development, or related field or equivalent;
• Minimum 2 experience years including at least 1 year as PO working within community development, particularly in vulnerable and unstable (security) urban areas;
• Demonstrated experience in career development or employment or similar;
• Demonstrated ability with project implementation, including monitoring and evaluation, reporting, etc.;
• Demonstrated experience on community participatory approach (methodology and strategy) and partnership approach.

• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to effectively motivate and to involve project participant and local entities (particularly Catholic Church and mentors)
• Very good organizational (daily activities) and monitoring skills with a minimum of support
• Ability to have a proactive and interactive relationship with Project Coordinator and team to facilitate efficient decision making and strong implementation of field activities
• Strong communication capacity (negotiation, influence, involvement)
• Very good written and spoken communication skills in French and Creole (Spanish, a plus)
• Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
• Availability to work outside of regular work schedule as necessary (before 8am and after 4pm and/or weekend)
REQUIRED/DESIRED FOREIGN LANGUAGE:
French, Creole. English and Spanish are definitely a plus.
