Good Neighbors International is a humanitarian non-governmental organization whose is working to implement community development projects by supporting the stable and self-sufficient development of community trough projects focuses on education, health, water sanitation and income generation. In addition, Good Neighbors runs advocacy programs at local, national, and international levels to protect the human rights of the socially marginalized. Good Neighbors helps also to develop community network to ensure that residents are engaged in projects and take pride of ownership.
Good Neighbors opened its field office in Haiti on July 2010, in response to the devastated earthquake on January 12 of the same year. Good Neighbors launched emergency relief aid as post-earthquake responses and served as channel between donors and the affected people in the community after the earthquake. Furthermore Good Neighbors involved in rebuild the most affected communities and accomplished successful fruitions through its various projects for example income generation, child sponsorship, construction of shelters, health, water sanitation and school reconstruction.
In order to implement the Sponsorship program in Haiti, Good Neighbors is currently looking for a new Officer (SSD Officer) for the Sponsorship Service Department. The main purpose of this position is to take charge of baseline of researching, implementing and reporting on SSD activities for example Annual Progress Report, Annual Child Letter (It is included to translate from Creole to English) and Drop out report. The SSD Officer also has to arrange to conduct visit to child’s House and to deliver special gift and letter from donor to Children. This is a challenging position that requires special talents with high devotion, communication and excellent analysis skills.
Fonctions
• Deeply understand about Good Neighbors International
• Organize volunteer group in the project area with community people and Operation Department
• Fill out all children information in the CMS program (Child Manager System)
• Make presentation to community leader about Good Neighbors’ Sponsorship Service and requirements.
• Survey and record children information
• Take picture of children and measure children’s height and weight.
• Make Annual Progress Report, Annual Child letter and Dropout Report.
• Deliver and report special gift from donors to sponsored children
• Report and handle with special case children (extremely vulnerable) in project area.
• Disseminating the sharing and learning’s of best practices with stakeholders.
• The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized and confident.
• Achieve all other tasks related assigned by supervisor
Qualifications Requises
• Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social welfare or related field
• Meticulous, cheerful and active personality to love and get along with children
• Strong sociability to encourage, empower and persuade rural community people.
• Skillful at reading, writing and understanding in English.
• Good at handling with cameras
• Professional working experiences in local or international NGO (preferred).
• Full computer literate (MS word, Excel, Power point)
• Good typing skill (more than 50 words per minute)
• Ability to travel nationally when required and make occasional overnight stays if necessary.
• Respect for human dignity with honesty
• Deep spiritual mind and respectful with other religion
• 2 years working experience in community development projects.
