Introduction

The General Education Coordinator will lead the team of supervisors (Conseillers
Pedagogiques) of Summits Education to ensure strong support, development, and accountability at the
school level under the supervision of the Director Of Programs. The General Education Coordinator will
be directly responsible for the management of the supervisors team on a day to day basis as well as the
long term professional development of each supervisor. The General Education Coordinator will also be
directly in charge of supporting the improvement of instructional practices both at the school and
classroom level. He/she will work closely with the Education Specialist to support supervisors in their
coaching practices, as well as teachers in their classroom activities. The General Education Coordinator is
in charge of ensuring compliance to Summits values in the schools, the classrooms, as well as in the
communities. The Education General Coordinator will work jointly with Community Liaisons to support
all community mobilization activities. He/she will be spearheading all the activities led by Summits
Education in the Central Plateau and ensuring that they are effectively implemented in the network of 40
schools.


Fonctions

● Oversee and manage team of supervisors which includes preparing team members for school
visits, organizing ongoing professional development for supervisors/directors/teachers, and
leading weekly team meetings.
● Develop calendar of visits for each supervisor in coordination with the Community Liaisons and
Education Specialist.
● Conduct daily co-observations to schools with supervisors to ensure strong coaching of directors
and teachers.
● Organize all programmatic aspects of trainings with partner networks and ensure uptake of
training is seen on the ground.
● Conduct needs assessment of schools and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be
addressed among the teams (teachers, school directors, supervisors); create action plans with
supervisors to address needs.
● Ensure strong monitoring practices and data collection for the Summits Education network.
● Assist in the application of and compliance to established regulation in the schools and oversee
the administration Summits Education network.
● Develop a guide for each grade in accordance with the MENFP’s program, develop activities to
support Summits’ Whole Child Approach, and ensure that activities are effectively implemented
to reinforce it.
● Have a leadership role in the development of tailored community activities to support students
learning and promote quality education in the Summits network.
● Ensure compliance and timely implementation of instructional materials in classrooms while
working closely with Community Liaison and Data Data Manager.
● In consultation with the Director of Programs, recruit, interview and select qualified staff.
● Support in yearly review of performance for supervisors, teachers, , school directors and key
pedagogical staff.
● Assist in the development of indicators to accurately assess the programs under implementation.
● In line with the MENFP agenda, support the planning and administration of reviews.
● Learn more about the new measures taken by the MENFP and update the staff accordingly.
● Identify and assess the risks associated with certain organizational decisions and ensure
follow-up as required.
● Ensure availability of materials in Summits Education schools in conjunction with community
links.
● Perform other duties within its jurisdiction, as required.


Qualifications Requises

● Master's Degree in education, education administration, or related field preferred. Minimum -
Bachelor of Education + 5 years related and progressively responsible work experience
● Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience that includes leadership experience (ideally a
coaching and/or supervisory role)
● Familiarity with innovative training and school based coaching methods and techniques
● Proven ability to complete full cycle of program management (assess needs, plan, develop,
coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
● Strong oral & written proficiency in Creole & French; ability to translate between languages

● Excellent leadership and ability to inspire respect, trust, and also ensure compliance holding
school and personnel accountable.
● Excellent ability to anticipate and resolve conflicts.
