Job Summary:

The Staff Wellness Officer’s function is to help create safe and secure working conditions and a work environment that promotes staff well-being, increases individual resilience, and supports a healthy and productive workforce.
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead capacity building of all staff, but especially managers to recognize the signs and symptoms of stress, burn-out and vicarious trauma, to better support staff needs and to facilitate peer support between team members.
• Participate in the development of a programme of work to address actionable activities and advice to support the morale and social, physical, and psychological well-being of staff.
• Conduct ongoing assessments for staff care needs to respond to in a changing operational context. Utilizing various methods to understand the support needs, concerns, and stress levels of staff, and advise management through regular consultation on how to better meet the needs of staff to minimize any issues.
• Undertake timely interventions for staff involved in critical incidents.
• Regularly develop, gather and distribute stress and trauma management resource tools and materials to all staff.
• Design, conduct and/or participate in stress and trauma management training and activities
• Ability to detect early signs of stress and trauma and to refer the affected staff to a licensed Psychologist for appropriate professional support.
• Provide management with timely information related to any work-related stress affecting employees
• Communicate to management general staff care issues or themes emerging from group sessions and activities; make suggestions on how to create a healthier and more supportive work environment.
• Lead social and recreative activities


Qualifications Requises



Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Work or Human Resources Management;

• 3 years of experience preferably in humanitarian relief, staff care or human resources management in difficult circumstances.



Personal Skills

• Strong communication skills: active listening and capacity to provide feedback

• Good relationship management skills

• Good presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills

• Demonstrated consultative leadership style and problem-solving approach that promotes social support, flexibility and team cohesion



Required/Desired Foreign Language: English (preferable)



Travel Required (include percentage of required travel, if applicable) : 40% - To Jeremie and PAP Offices



Key Working Relationships:



Supervisory: N/A

Internal: Staff, Managers and Supervisors

External: Psychologists
