Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health (MatCH) is a division of the Wits Health Consortium under the School of Public Health of the University of the Witwatersrand. MatCH is a consortium partner implementing the EQUIP project. EQUIP is an international grant to implement projects in five key solution areas - innovative models of ART service delivery; innovative approaches to support viral load scale-up; strategies and technologies to more effectively identify and link patients to treatment, foster ongoing adherence and retention; identify approaches that respond to the needs of key populations and promising “Test and Start” strategies in countries in Africa, South East Asia and the Caribbean.
Fonctions
Main Purpose of the Job
The incumbent will support a roving team providing technical assistance on HIV community care and support to USAID supported health institutions providing HIV clinical care and treatment services in collaboration with implementing partners.
Key Performance Areas
• Work collaboratively with implementing partners to assist supported ART sites in developing strategies to ensure continuum of care for HIV patient enrolled on ART and foster retention in line with the 90-90-90 goals.
• Assist implementing partners in mentoring and training community health workers to efficiently provide support to patients in need.
• Work collaboratively with implementing partners to implement an efficient patient tracking system to reduce lost to follow up
• Provide technical assistance in the implementation of community ARV distribution in the catchment areas of supported ART sites
• Assist in implementing continuous quality improvement methodologies to address issues/weaknesses identified community care and support for HIV patients
• Provide clinical mentoring to nurses providing care and treatment services including patient chart review
• Review challenges and achievements as it relates HIV community care and support and institute corrective action.
Qualifications Requises
Required minimum education and training
• Relevant Nursing Diploma
• Diploma/certificate in community health
Minimum work experience
• 5 years’ experience in providing technical assistance and mentoring / training of health providers on HIV community care
Conditions particulières

• Knowledge of the electronic medical record
• Knowledge of continuous quality improvement methodologies
• Experience working in a donor funded environment/NGO project-based organisation
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
