Introduction
Project Medishare for Haiti is a nonprofit organization that empowers Haitians to provide and receive access to quality health care and related services. For more than 20 years, our team of doctors, nurses, community health workers and volunteers has cared for thousands of children and adults. Last year alone, more than 70,000 people benefitted from the comprehensive health services and medical training we provide.
We are looking for a dynamic, self-driven, and highly focused individual to manage Project Medishare’s relief and rebuilding efforts in communities affected by Hurricane Matthew. Applicants must have solid experience in project coordination and grant reporting, and have a strong desire to engage with various program stakeholders.
This is a temporary, full-time position based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti with significant travel throughout southern Haiti. The Disaster Relief Program Manager reports to the Executive Director of Project Medishare.
Fonctions
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management: Lead disaster relief and rebuilding activities in accordance with the policies, procedures, and methods of the program model (with agreed upon local modifications). Monitor relief programming for quality and effective implementation. Manage staff, local partners, timelines and budgets on multiple relief projects.
Grant Reporting: Work with staff in Haiti and Miami to compile detailed, timely and accurate reports to donors. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of program activities.
Partner Liaison and Development: Establish and nurture supportive and highly collaborative working relationships with all internal and external program partners and staff in order to implement relief and rebuilding activities in hurricane-affected communities in a timely manner. Represent Project Medishare at relevant formal disaster-response functions (i.e. cluster meetings and government forums).
Communications: Contribute to the creation of content (photos, beneficiary profiles, short videos, etc.) for use across Project Medishare’s communications channels.
Qualifications Requises
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Proven success in the managing, implementing, and evaluating community-driven health and/or disaster relief programs, with at least three years’ experience working in a professional, highly responsive environment internationally or in Haiti.
