Introduction
Job Title: Senior Business Development Specialist.
Fonctions
Overall Responsibility
The Senior Business Development Specialist is responsible for the exploration and development of new business for the MSH-Haiti Office. Under the guidance of the Regional Program Development Manager, and in liaison with the Country Representative, the Senior Business Development Specialist will proactively support or seek new business opportunities and will be responsible for the solicitation of funding and supporting the development of funding proposals. The Senior Business Development Specialist will ensure intelligence gathering at country level and share MSH impact with the donors. S/he is also responsible for the development and management of MSH partnerships with the private sector and will support project directors to identify cost share opportunities. The Senior Business Development Specialist will report to the Regional Program Development Manager, East Africa/Haiti and will have day to day engagement with the Country Representative.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Intelligence Gathering
• Track and analyze technical trends, donor news, and market data; gather intelligence on opportunities, competitors and funders.
• Maintain regular communication with MSH Country Representatives and Project Directors in designated geographic portfolio to assess new developments
• Support projects to raise cost share through identification of opportunities in the corporate sector and other non-USAID funded initiatives.
• Develop methods to systematically gather and disseminate intelligence across MSH
• Provide monthly news brief on issues, opportunities, and the status of new business activities for the Country Representative, the Country Leadership Team, the Regional Program Development Manager, Senior Director Program Development and Strategy and the Senior Director of Country Presence. ]
• Maintain the Salesforce data base. Develop and maintain a list of actual and potential partners, competitors and donors.
• Ensure that the Country Leadership Team is actively engaged in new business development and cognizant of donor trends and funding opportunities.
• Coordinate and assist proposal teams on proposal development, strategic issues and positioning Intel.
• Participate in workshops, conferences, meetings and seminars to keep up-to-date on changes in the new business sector.
2. Manage local country positioning
• Lead development and execution of MSH business strategies and plans at country levels.
• Design practical strategies to mobilize resources in country through the private sector.
• Pro-actively explore Corporate Social Responsibility partnerships and funding opportunities within the private sector in partnership with the Office of Global Partnership, Marketing and Communications.
• Support the Country Representative to promote synergistic operations of MSH and implement the Country Strategic Roadmap.
• Maintain positive relationships with actual and potential donors and communicate and advocate for MSH capabilities.
3 Develop and implement positioning plans for specific new business opportunities
• With country representative, lead positioning efforts for designated geographic portfolio, including compiling and maintaining key reference documents, maintaining networks of key stakeholders, international and local partners and staff, conducting competitive analyses, supporting and participating in positioning trips, and finalizing pre-teaming agreements.
• Contribute to project design and proposal development for specific new business opportunities.
4 Other
• Other tasks as assigned and mutually agreed with the Regional Program Development Manager and Country Representative.
Qualifications Requises
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public health, management, or equivalent degree with relevant experience.
Preferred: Master’s degree in business administration or public health
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years’ experience
Preferred: master’s degree with at least 4 years’ experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Experience working in the development of complex proposals and managing donor relations.
• Experience in grants/contracts management and private sector engagement.
• Experience working with US government rules and regulations required.
• Experience and knowledge of regulations and policies for non-US donors such as DFID, UN, WB, EU, Gates, etc. preferred.
• Experience in presenting and communicating project/s and country impact.
• Knowledge of the country’s health sector of donor priorities.
• Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of spreadsheets.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
COMPETENCIES

• Fluent in English, French and Creole

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Occasional travel may be required inside Haiti (25%) and outside of Haiti (10%)
• Must be based in Haiti (Port au Prince)
