Introduction

The Regional Community Engagement and Communication Officer is directly supervised by the Community Engagement Manager and works as an active team member of the An n ALE Team. S/he is responsible for increasing parental and community engagement to support student reading and writing. S/he is considered as the focal point for all communication and community engagement activities for the specified Corridor. S/he is responsible to work in close collaboration with Network Partners to ensure all activities progress as planned and to highlight opportunities or challenges to the An n ALE leadership team


Fonctions

1. Coordinates administrative systems including sharing important templates, forms, and documents with the program team;

2. Responsible for official communications with networks partner on the field as designated by the Community Engagement Manager;

3. Provide support and access to technical materials;

4. Train field staff on the communication tools;

5. Coordinate activities with the reading ambassadors;

6. Train field staff in execution of communication and community engagement activities;

7. Conduct follow up, site visits, and monitoring of network partners, schools and communities in the corridor to ensure activities are being carried out in a timely manner in accordance with the designated methodology;

8. In collaboration with network partners, coordinate, facilitate and undertake community engagement and communications initiatives as required including plenary, forums and integrated community meetings and online initiatives;

9. Provide technical assistance and monitoring of the roll out of MUSO program with Field Agents. Ensure consistent Education Message dissemination within MUSO groups;

10. Provide technical assistance and monitoring of the roll out of the project to support reading and writing with network partners;

11. Collaborate with An n ALE Team to improve the quality and effectiveness of reading and writing activities in communities;

12. In collaboration with network partners, develop and maintain communication between schools and local community clubs, groups and organizations including the maintenance of a contact data base;

13. Assist with and, where required, respond to parents, community and stakeholder enquiries regarding community engagement projects;

14. Monthly attendance at community meetings and workshops per month relating to initiatives and projects as determined by Community Engagement Manager. Prepare and distribute relevant material, agenda, and minutes as required.

15. Provide regular reports on the project regarding their corridor activities to CRS.





REPRESENTATION:

1. Partnership: Regularly meet with representatives of partnering organizations and government counterparts to present key documents, collect comments and discuss project progress.


Qualifications Requises

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Diploma in Social Science, Communications, Public Relations, or other relevant field.
2. Substantial demonstrated experience in community engagement.
3. A minimum of three years experiences in community development coordination working in consortiums or partnerships to achieve mutual goals.
4. Must be able to work independently and represent CRS.
5. Proven ability to develop new initiatives and write reports meeting donor requirements.
6. Fluency in French (both spoken and written) and proficiency in English

• High level community engagement skills including planning, communication, presentation, facilitation, and event management.
• High level project management skills, including project implementation, logistics, assessment, and writing reporting.
• High level interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication and active listening skills.
• High degree of empathy and compassion, including the ability to see issues and impacts from other points of view, and ability to understand and relate to a diverse range of people from a wide range of backgrounds.
• Ability to develop and maintain highly successful, positive working relationships with schools, including the ability to consult, collaborate, negotiate and compromise to ensure effective outcomes.
• Ability to deliver high quality and appropriate training, effective community meetings focused on reading and writing and discussion with groups on specific topics. For instance, importance of reading and writing.
• Good problem solving skills, along with the ability to set priorities, manage time effectively and process deadlines of projects and programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
