Fonctions
The Program Manager is the person charged with providing operational and technical to the Country Representative in the Haitian program. The program is focused on conflict transformation, citizen participation, livelihoods and peace education with youth, urban schools and urban communities. The position will also involve planning, monitoring, reporting and conducting participative evaluation indicators and the provision of accompaniment to local partner organizations. This position will support the accomplishment of objectives, in accordance with the guidelines of AFSC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: The key responsibilities of the position include the following:
Program responsibilities
• In coordination with Country Representative, provide support for Haiti program staff to identify and attain all program objectives, especially in building and strengthening of Local Peace Networks and Schools for Peace.
• Provide program staff with methodological and technical support to ensure use of participatory methodologies.
• Support program staff in the inclusion of human rights, gender and ethnic and social inclusion framework, as per the AFSC thematic alignment and programming approach.
• Support program staff in the development of appropriate Monitoring and Evaluation tools, including the inclusion of lessons learned.
• Develop and implement initiatives that meet community needs in partnership with community members, volunteers, and community-based organizations.
• Ensure that participatory systems and processes for monitoring activities, results and impact assessment at program level involve the team and partners.
• Support CR in the development of networks and partnerships with local, regional and national institutions in Haiti and spearhead donor collaboration and the projects development within them.
• Attend local community meetings and participate in relevant AFSC program staff and committee meetings, conferences and trainings as requested.
• Ensure that the Haiti Program maintains a coordinated.
• Develop reports and other documents, as needed.
Administrative and Financial Management
• Collaborate with CR and others in the development and implementation of annual Haiti program budget.
• Support CR in recruitment processes and training of program staff, as needed.
• Contribute to the development of key program documents (strategies, initiatives, document, projects proposals, reports, etc.).
• Organize weekly and monthly meetings with all program staff for the purpose of exchanging information, coordination and learning.
• Supports CR to assure activities are in compliance with budgeted amounts for program activities.
Grants
• Collaborate in the development and completion of program proposals.
• Coordinate quality monthly reports of the in line with AFSC and donor timetable requirements.
• Facilitate donor visits, donor meetings, round table discussions and evaluations as necessary.
Other duties
• Assist with any other duties assigned by the Country Representative, as and when required.
Qualifications Requises
EDUCATION:
• University Degree in Social Sciences
• Preferably advanced degree in Conflict Transformation or a related subject.
• High-level (written and spoken) English, French and Haitian Creole.
EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working for an INGO in peace building programs with supervisory and coordination responsibilities.
• Knowledge in Nonviolence, Conflict Analysis, Transformation and Peacebuilding.
• Leadership experience in effectively supporting staff to reach goals.
• Experience in mediation, dialogue and facilitation in a local level.
• Skills and experience in partner and project management.
• Some experience with non-profit networking.
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Good computer skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; demonstrated ability to report orally and in writing; ability to write and edit materials for publication in English.
• Flexibility and ability to adjust to changes and new requirements.
• Team player with leadership qualities, and ability to manage staff.
• Skilled at prioritizing and completing multiple tasks.
• Must be organized and have excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to work in multi/ethnic and national environments.
• Ability to work well under pressure and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Conditions particulières
Only Haitian nationals or expats with legal authority to work in Haiti will be considered.
Conditions de travail
Work schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:30 pm, but may require evenings and weekends to assure all deadlines are met.
