We are looking for a digital reporter/producer to join our team. The successful candidate will create engaging editorial including articles, video and photos which will drive audience engagement and traffic to our site.
• Source and create a range of engaging content including articles, video and photographs
• Be confident to write across a wide area of news including local news, politics, entertainment, sport and lifestyle
• Must be an excellent writer who can generate own stories and be able to create top quality content quickly to meet tight deadlines
• Must be able to source, develop and verify stories on social media
• Must understand how to engage with our audience on social media and use social platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to drive traffic to our sites
• Upload content to the website to ensure the site and key sections are always fresh
• Must have an active network of contacts across key areas of life including politics, social, health and business communities from which to generate stories
• Create live blogs for breaking news and big events when required
• Ensure content is search engine-optimised, engaging, legally sound and accurate
• Work with other journalists to ensure that we quickly develop content around key local social trends or stories which break on social platforms
• Monitor performance of content using analytics tools such as Chartbeat and Google Analytics.

• A degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media or an equivalent field
• Excellent writing skills and experience in digital journalism
• A knowledge of Word Press and other popular Content Management Systems
• Must be skilled at using digital technologies including video, photography and digital editing tools.
• Superb social media skills
• A deep understanding of how to make content engaging to audiences.
• A deep understanding of how content is shared and promoted through social media
• Ability to shoot and edit video and audio
• Ability to work well under deadline pressure
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in French and English
• Full driving license.
