Organizational Profile:
Zanmi Lasante (ZL) is a Haitian non-governmental organization associated with Partners In Health (PIH). ZL/PIH has been providing socio and economic accompaniment to population living in rural Haiti since 25 years. Partners In Health, headquartered in Boston, MA, is an internationally recognized non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. Through its service delivery, training, advocacy and research, PIH works globally to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need and to serve as an antidote to despair. Besides Haiti, PIH has major programs in Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, Russia, Rwanda, Lesotho, Malawi, Burundi, Kazakhstan, the Dominican Republic, and Boston, working tirelessly to lessen the joint burden of disease and poverty.

Overall Responsibilities:
Partners In Health/Zanmi Lasante is seeking a Business Development consultant for the Haiti Corporant Abbott funded facility (SNP) that produces nutritional products based on peanuts. Zanmi Lasante is looking forward to utilize the plant at full capacity and generate other potential sources of revenues as potential clients (local supermarket chain, food producers etc…) are interested into the facility.
The Business Development consultant will oversee the strategic planning process, development and growth of profitable new business opportunities and the SNP’s acquisition strategy. The consultant will work with our product and engineering teams to identify and evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities, lead M&A discussions and create partnerships which expand the addressable market and enhance the overall strategic positioning of the plant.
Position will have to work autonomously and with all levels of the organization to foster the strategic business development plan. In addition the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of marketing, financial modeling and developing infrastructure in support of a new businesses and be able to foster the growth of an idea to full implementation
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop a comprehensive business development strategy that is aligned with the Senior Management’s vision on direction for the plant.
• Implement business development plan with assistance of project managers, General Manager and
Home Office Staff
• Develop and lead the Business Development strategy in sourcing, managing and implementing new
Business opportunities.
• Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and
Financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
• Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and
Exploring opportunities.
• Develops the strategic plan of the plant, adhering to direction set by ZL Executive Director, donors and Plant Manager.
• Assess the plant ’s environment and resources.
• Facilitate Change Management initiatives to ensure the growth of the plant is equipped with
adequate infrastructure & processes to support growth.
• Make decisions for the organization by assessing ROI, risk and cost/benefit.
• Impact the profitability of the plant through ensuring the strategic and tactical management
decisions and new business development results.
• Ensure efficient and effective marketing, advertising and promotional planning through marketing initiatives.
• Prudently manage resources within budgetary guidelines, according to ZL and plant policy and within
ethical corporate governance guidelines.
• Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with plant
strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
• Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts;
integrating contract requirements with business operations.
Qualifications Requises
Required Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Marketing; MBA preferred.
• Minimum seven (7) years of demonstrated business development experience.
• Prior experience in strategic planning, business development, acquisition sourcing, government
contracting and due diligence.
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel modeling, Word and Power Point
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Haitian laws pertaining to NGOs operating in Haiti.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and direct others to accomplish complex major activities and report on
operations and activities which are very broad in scope
• Strong interpersonal written and verbal communications skills
• Subjected to irregular and extended work hours
• Haitian Creole or French a plus

Working Conditions:
Location for this position: Corporant near Mirebalais (Haiti), but the consultant may be based in Port-au-Prince.
Travel: 20% - 30% required depending on need.
