Nutrition Associate Director

Under the supervision of the Director of Community Health Services for Zanmi Lasante, the Nutrition Associate Director is primarily responsible for managing malnutrition program implementation across all Zanmi Lasante sites in Haiti. Working collaboratively with ZL leadership and program managers, the Associate Director will oversee daily program operations and communications. The Associate Director will be based fulltime in Haiti. He/she will work directly with the ZL staff (executives, clinicians, and members of the MEQ, finance, and programs teams) to successfully carry out program goals and develop all program deliverables.


Major responsibilities:


Program & Financial Management (50%)


• Work with program leadership to ensure responsible management of program activities and ensure performance


• Leads the process to strengthen and develop systems to achieve program goals and objectives (ie: communication across sub teams, procurement system, M&E system, etc…)


• Work with clinical staff and leaders to ensure quality of health service and troubleshoot any issues which may arise


• Monitor program progress against stated goals


• Under Director of Community Health Services, support leadership elaborate annual operational regarding the Organization strategic goals.


• Work with finance team to track financial spending and track this against program activities


• Collaborate with program managers to ensure that responsible financial practices are being implemented


• Regularly communicate program progress with ZL and Boston based leadership on program progress


• Supervise and mentor malnutrition program managers


• Work with compliance team to ensure that implementation of program activities and finances are compliant with any related donor regulations


Fundraising & Advocacy (20%)


• Collaborate with the Director of Community Health Services and other ZL and Boston based leadership to contribute to strategic planning efforts around malnutrition in Haiti


• Collaborate with fundraising teams to provide technical inputs on fundraising opportunities


• Liaise with MSPP officials and other partner organizations to advocate for malnutrition program needs


• Liaise with other ZL clinical leadership to communicate program progress and also strategize over opportunities for program integration





Clinical Supervision and Mentorship (15%)


• Lead the process for assessing and implementing clinical protocols, procedures, and trainings


• Supervise and provide mentorship to clinical management


• Contribute to training efforts for clinical malnutrition staff


• Lead the process for hiring clinical malnutrition staff


Report Writing (15%)


• Review and approve malnutrition related reports to donors or other outside agencies


• Collaborate with the MEQ, Procurement, Finance, and HR teams to develop interim progress reports which communicates malnutrition program progress to PIH/ ZL representatives



Qualifications Requises

• Medical Doctor
• Master’s degree preferred (in Public Health or relevant field)
• At least 3 years of experience and demonstrated track record in program management
• Experience working in a low resource setting
• Experience implementing nutritional programs
• Excellent communication and writing skills: ability to articulate ZL’s mission, program objectives, and resource needs persuasively to funders
• Excellent organizational skills: ability to manage complex programs from creation to completion, plan and prioritize multiple deliverables, and coordinate teams to meet deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail in all work
• Professional level French and English language skills
