Position Description: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking candidates for a Program Officer/ Consultant to work on the Malaria Zero project based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Fonctions
This 2-year position will be an integral part of the Malaria Zero CDC project team, working with colleagues based in Haiti and at headquarters in Atlanta to support a full range of activities for malaria elimination. The project activities include malaria surveillance, field surveys, and community treatment campaigns. Specific responsibilities for this position will involve providing operational and technical support for project or research activity initiation, implementation, compliance and programmatic monitoring and close-out.
Launched in February 2015, the Malaria Zero project consists of a partnership between the Ministry of Public Health and Population of Haiti (MSPP), the Ministry of Public Health of the Dominican Republic (CENCET), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Carter Center, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (TUSPHTM), the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and the CDC Foundation. The assignment is expected to begin in November 2015 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Information on CDC’s malaria programs is found at www.cdc.gov/malaria.
Le poste, dont le mandat est de 2 ans, fera partie intégrante de l’équipe qui mène le projet Malaria Zéro, travaillant auprès des collègues basé à Haïti et au siège du CDC à Atlanta, pour soutenir la gestion globale des activités pour l’élimination du Malaria. En matière d’activités techniques cela inclus la surveillance de malaria, enquêtes de terrain, et des campagnes de traitement de communauté. Les tâches principaux pour ce poste s’agit du soutien opérationnelles et techniques du projet ou recherche inclus l’initiation, l’implémentation, conformité et contrôle programmatique et fermeture des activités.

Qualifications Requises
• A Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, surveillance, or other related area, or technical level equivalent is required
• Strong organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills are required; demonstrated effective diplomatic and communications skills at the national and/or local levels
• Experience in project management and implementation in providing logistical and operational support is required
• Candidates should have an interest in field epidemiology, surveillance; monitoring and evaluation, public health program implementation
• The candidate must be comfortable working both independently at times as well as in close, supportive technical collaboration with government and partner counterparts, multilateral organizations, philanthropic organizations, other nongovernment organizations, and other global health public and private partners
• Experience working with malaria or other infectious diseases is desired
• Ability to work in English is highly desirable
• Maîtrise dans le domaine d’épidémiologie, sante publique, surveillance, ou autres disciplines liées, ou un niveau technique équivalant est requise
• Une compétence élevée des qualités d’organisation et communication (écrit et parlé) sont requis ; démontré une compétence diplomatique et les qualités de communications aux niveaux national et/ou local
• Expérience dans la gestion et l’implémentation de projet dans le soutien de logistique et opérationnelle est requis
• Les candidats doivent posséder un intérêt dans le domaine d’épidémiologie, surveillance, le suivi et l’évaluation, l’implémentation des programmes de sante publique
• Le candidat doit se sentir à l’aise de travailler en autonomie ainsi qu’en accompagnement proche de collaboration technique avec le gouvernement et partenaires, les organisations multilatéraux, philanthropique, non-gouvernementale, et d’autre partenaires de sante publique global et privé
• Expérience travailler avec la malaria ou d’autre maladie infectieuse est désirés
• Excellent maitrise de l’Anglais est désirée
