The main role of the Radio & Public Communications Officer is to coordinate all the radio programs of AVANSE and also be a liaison with Haitian government and ministry representatives. Apart from these two tasks, work will involve coordinating the production of other multi-media material (videos, web pieces etc), contact with local Haitian media and international media for press tours and helping with organizing events.

Specifically, the duties will include:
· Produce radio emissions:
o Write the script for the spots/shows liaising with the IR concerned
o Do the interviews
o Conduct the show
o Do any necessary editing and montage
o Follow-up on any responses to the broadcasts
· Handle the distribution of radio spots/shows in a wider zone (municipality, other regions etc).
· Do interviews of beneficiaries and AVANSE technical staff for both radio and written stories.
· Coordinate with film crews on the production of videos, aiding in the script writing, voice-over, interviewing and editing/montage of final cut.
· Organize events to help promote AVANSE’s work:
o Put together the visual signage of the event (banners, posters etc.)
o Coordinate catering services
o Coordinate logistical matters (tents, canopies, chairs, platforms etc.)
o Put up permanent signage (if it is an opening event)
o Write speeches for senior AVANSE staff
o Act as maître of ceremonies during events
· Liaise with media and coordinate media visits to project work sites and national media presence during events.

The Public Comms Officer will have the following qualifications:
· Unversity degree in Communications/Journalism or a social science.
· 2 years of experience working with an NGO or an International Organization (preferred).
· Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in radio production.
· Excellent knowledge of Creole and French, with basic knowledge of English a must.
· Have a charismatic personality with a presence in public/broadcast speaking.
· Have good contacts with Haitian media and public event companies.
