Introduction

The accountant I, under the assistant Finance Manager supervision contributes highly in lifting the quality of the work provided by Finance Department. This position has oversight over some of the projects led by the Program and Project Managers and works closely with these Managers on budgeting, the preparation of the registration of invoices and receipts pertaining to these projects, and the monthly follow-up between the Finance Team and the programmer and project managers.
The accountant I works closely with a number of people in both support and programmer positions and act assistant Finance Manager when the assistant Finance Manager is absent or on leave.


Fonctions

Responsibilities:

o Acting Assistant -Finance Manager o General responsibilities in connection with the position
▪Bookkeeping
▪Assist the Finance Manager with monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
▪Property rental and pre-paid reconciliation .
▪Monthly Bank Reconciliation
▪Financial support to partners
o Financial support to programs including
 Preparation and prime control of donor reports
 Follow-up of those budgets
 Supervision of on-site staff in financial matters
 Assistance to Heads of Program Departments in interpretation and follow-up of monthly departmental and donor reports from the Finance Office
 Supervision and control of all contractual and donor-related documents
o Program support for the Program Team:
 Assisting program and project managers with preparation of expenses for registration in the accountant software.
 Assist program managers with investigations regarding their monthly budget vs actual reports
 Assist program managers with preparation of cash flow data
 Assist program managers with donor reports


Qualifications Requises

• A bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting
• At least 3 years of experience in Accounting.
• Strong analytic and quantitative skills
• Significant experience in budgetary analysis
• Ability to be detailed when necessary, but to rise to the bigger picture when this is necessary
• Experience working in working in a stressful environment (desirable)
• Ability to communicate financial data to non-financial colleagues
• Recognized accounting qualification (desirable)
• Familiarity with the Haitian context (desirable)
• Fluency in French and English (required)
• Fluency in Creole (desirable)
Skills:

• Ability and Experience with accounting software.
• Good knowledge of Office.
• Strong analytic and quantitative in Accounting.
• Significant experience in budgetary analysis.
• Ability in Office and Specifically.
