The Systems Analyst/Developer maintains, audits and improves organizational support systems to meet particular needs. The position requires strong business skills and would be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and occasionally modifying systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support application systems. The incumbent will consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems: MAX Software and other Microsoft based systems.
•Make recommendations on custom applications which include a number of MS-Access data capture system and other databases which need to be moved into a central SQL repository.
•Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes. That includes researching, designing, writing new software programs and integrating existing software products and getting incompatible platforms to work together.
•Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements.
•Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications.
•Verify database and data integrity.
•Participate in weekly meetings with the team to discuss progress and issues to be resolved, and report progress on a weekly basis to the CIO.
•Serve as a liaison and facilitator between all business units to assist in addressing and resolving IT software issues.
•Train the users on the systems
Qualifications Requises
•Bachelor degree in Software Engineer or Management Information System plus related experience.
•Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
•Good background in Data Base design in Microsoft SQL, Access, and working knowledge skills with Visio, and Microsoft Project
•Working knowledge of Max Software, Data Tex or any ERP Software would be an asset
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.
•Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities;
•Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
•Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
•Good English and French oral and written communication skills.
•A results oriented individual who thrives working in a fast paced environment.
