Introduction

MCSP is hiring a Knowledge Management and Communication Officer (KMCO) for MCSP Haiti-North project. The KMCO will contribute content discovery, acquisition, usage, reporting, and reference desk services; ensure positive user experience; and advocate for more extensive and effective use of knowledge management within the Haiti-North project. The KMCO will also provide limited support (up to 20%) to supporting the EPCMD project. Other duties will include participation in the electronic publishing process, as well as contributions to the programmatic, technical and methodological soundness of projects and activities through assuring optimal and timely availability of data, reports, and knowledge in several technical areas. This position will report directly to the Haiti North Chief of Party. This position will be based in Cap Haitien


Fonctions

Knowledge Management
• Develop a plan for overall flow of information and knowledge to and from the field and to partners
• Support and encourage MCSP Haiti staff use of data storage systems, including Sharepoint, and others as needed
• Ensure technical staff at MCSP HQ and the field are included in sharing of information and promote multi-directional knowledge and information flows
• Identify and establish ongoing content acquisition relationships with departmental offices and local partners to publish content
• Manage the capture, organization, and dissemination of technical materials, guidelines, procedure, and policy-level documents; performance standards, technical briefs, program strategy papers, key monitoring and evaluation (M&E) documents (e.g., M&E information, facility assessment reports, etc.); as well as M&E tools (e.g., service delivery, training tools, briefs on RMNCH, etc.)
• Manage and reduce overlap and redundancy in information and knowledge creation by identifying existing content before publishing electronically and in paper form
• Respond to requests for assistance in locating information needed from the program and technical teams
• Provide quarterly reports on content, usage and other statistics, results, experiences, lessons learned, and challenges related to KM
• Communicate licensing and best practices related to electronic resources and access, as needed
• Collaborate with authors and content owners to keep active content accurate and up to date
• Maintain archiving system for conference and workshop presentation materials such as best practices, lessons learned, abstracts, handouts, and follow-up reports
• Promote and support MCSP Haiti’s KM and knowledge sharing efforts
Communications:
• Engage MCSP Haiti in social media outlets and through online engagement to expand the reach and online presence of project work
• Manage social media: create interesting and relevant regular postings about Haiti-North and EPCMD activities on MCSP’s Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts
• Identify opportunities for MCSP Haiti to utilize new media technologies and online engagement
• Provide research and analytics to direct social media strategy and assess impact
• Promote MCSP Haiti presence at conferences through online engagement and assist in the development of key communications collateral
• Develop accurate and creative story ideas for a variety of media and selected audiences, including sharing amongst like-minded groups and partner organizations
• Develop and execute advocacy and communications strategy for project, including working with partners and writing key communications collateral to include fact sheets, talking points, event briefings, press releases, and media advisories
• Provide publications support to include graphic design, editing, formatting, and coordinating printing needs
• Represent MCSP Haiti in professional circles at meetings, conferences, and presentations
• Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications Requises

• Master’s degree in public health, international relations, or related field
• 3+ years’ experience in managing public health repositories of technical materials (particularly electronically), information systems, or public health programs
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
• Familiar with public health issues in Haiti, terms, priorities and technical interventions
• Knowledge of business practices, including copyright, intellectual property, and licensing terms especially in a network environment
• Ability to launch, grow, and manage new initiatives
• Excellent writing, information collection, analysis and reporting skills
• Fluency in Haitian Creole, French, and English
• Ability and willingness to travel around Haiti up to 30% of time
