Introduction

Sèvis Finansye FONKOZE, S.A. (SFF) is a Haitian non bank financial institution specializing in microfinance. Our aim is to lift families and communities out of poverty while operating in a financially self-sustaining manner. Today, we serve more than 200,000 clients through a network of 45 branch offices and 2,000 credit centers spread throughout all 10 departments of Haiti. FONKOZE employs over 800 full-time staff making us one of the largest private employers in Haiti.


Fonctions

The Product Development Manager is responsible for the overall functioning and overseeing the research, product development, and publicity and promotion functions of the Institution. Additional responsibility includes and is not limited to providing leadership in SFF’s product strategy, product delivery and customer service strategy, and efforts to build a strong brand and reputation in the local marketplace and beyond. As product development and marketing impacts every aspect of the business, the incumbent is also tasked to build strong internal relationships and work collaboratively with other valuable stakeholders.

Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing marketing strategy and achieving marketing targets. Specific responsibilities include business and market development; market research and planning; strategic direction for promotion and advertising; coordination with sales; and hiring and directing the day-to-day activities of marketing staff when appropriate.


Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

I. Planning and Organizing
• Provide leadership in the planning, staffing and coordinating the work of the Product Development department.
• Identify, develop, evaluate, and regularly update marketing strategy/plan (products, pricing, promotion, place, positioning, etc.), based on knowledge of SFF’s objectives, market characteristics and market opportunities.
• Establish and implement short-term and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
• Develop and manage marketing budgets, and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets.
• Develop the annual marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve system and goals.
• Oversee review of product manuals, policies and procedures, and other product documentation on an annual basis and update as appropriate.
• Maintain archive of all policies, procedures and manuals of the Institution.
• Issue all circulars related to amendments of manuals, policies and procedures, and the issuance of instructions to branches and senior management.
• Serve on planning and policy-making committees, as required.
• Develop an Individual Operating Plan (IOP) with SMART objectives, indicators, activities and deliverables.

II. Research (Market Intelligence)
• Oversee regular research in the areas of competition, customer behavior, market and environment (political, economic, social, technological, etc.), among others.
• Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of product and services, delivery strategies, costs, and performance results.
• Create an institutional and system-wide marketing reporting function that can track, measure and analyze performance.
• Measure and monitor customer satisfaction and attitude towards products and weaknesses, and recommend remedies to improve performance.

III. Product Development
• Initiate and oversee market research studies for new product development (or modifications to existing products) and analyze their findings.
• Assess risks (reputational, operational, financial, etc.) and rewards (balancing SFF’ssocial and financial objectives and customer satisfaction) of introducing of new products or modifications to existing products, and identify resource requirements with support from and in communication with other departments.
• Oversee design and development and/or update of communication and delivery strategies, and product manuals including policies and procedures to govern the introduction of new products.
• Work with the IT, Training Manager and other departments to develop and adapt the MIS, policies and procedures, and training materials for product communication and delivery, and internally test all modifications.
• Oversee design and implementation of pilot tests, product rollouts, and monitoring and evaluation of existing products and new products.

IV. Publicity and Promotion
• Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing policies and activities to publicize and promote products and services, including advertisements, promotions and direct marketing programs.
• Supervise the planning and development of SFF’s marketing and communications materials.
• Represent the Institution with local and international organizations and provide suggestions to improve relations.
• Plan and coordinate public affairs, and communications efforts, to include public relations and community outreach to enhance SFF’s brand in the local market


Qualifications Requises

Qualifications:

Education:
• B.SC. Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum four (4) years experience in same area

• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in planning marketing strategies, research, product development, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts
• Appreciation of and commitment to the mission, vision, values and goals of SFF
• Ability to travel
