Le projet FEED THE FUTURE WEST HAITI de l’USAID



Suite au lancement du nouveau projet agricole FEED THE FUTURE WEST HAITI financé par l’Agence de Développement International des Etats-Unis (USAID), Chemonics International Inc. recherche des candidats qualifiés pour plusieurs postes de travail. Basé à Port-au-Prince, il vise à améliorer la vie des agriculteurs dans ses zones d’intervention.


Fonctions

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive project vehicles daily as assigned and/or pre-approved by supervisor, including routing shuttle service runs, scheduled field trips, project-related transportation within town of office and other cities, and other driving assignments as required.
• Clean assigned vehicles daily both inside and outside.
• Check assigned vehicles daily to ensure that they are operational and safe to drive, including oil, radiator, fan belt, brake fluid, wipers, tires, lights, blinkers, etc.
• Initiate and supervise any repairs required on assigned vehicles with supervisor's approval.
• Initiate and supervise routine periodic maintenance of assigned project vehicles, including oil and filter changes, tune-ups, and professional cleaning by high-pressure hose based on the manufacturer's instructions on optimum maintenance requirements.
• Fulfill project reporting requirements and maintain records on vehicle routing, vehicle condition, etc.
• Ensure passenger safety by obeying traffic laws and driving carefully.
• Moving office items from one place to another.
• Enforce no smoking in the project vehicle and use of safety belts.
• Transporting and picking up documents, supplies, and other materials for support of the office.
• Assist with office support functions when not driving or conducting work related to driving position.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications Requises

QUALIFICATIONS and KEY COMPETENCIES

• A valid local national driver/expeditor's license is required.
• At least 3 years experience working as a professional driver is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate Haiti.
• A good and safe driving record and understanding of basic auto mechanics are required.
• Availability for overtime work and field travel is necessary.
• Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, visitors, partner institutions including international and local NGOs, governmental entities, support organizations, and the general public.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to prioritize multiple work assignments in an extremely fast-paced environment, to meet deadlines, and to exercise good, professional judgment that reflects positively on the image and communicates the established program message of the project.
• Ability to effectively use computer software including word processing and basic spreadsheet applications is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 kgs.
• Language Skills: Fluent French, Creole, and functional English are required (both writing and speaking).
