Job vacancy for Education Coordinator
Good Neighbors International is a humanitarian non-governmental organization, whose mission is to improve the lives of others—especially those of children—through education, community development, health services, sanitation, and disaster relief projects.
Good Neighbors was granted General Consultative Status with the UN ECOSOC in 1996 and also we were acknowledged its contribution and granted the ‘MDGs (Millennium Development Goals) Award by the United Nations in 2007.
Good Neighbors opened its field office for Haiti in January 2010, in response to the earthquake that devastated Haiti, in January of that year. We rapidly launched emergency relief aid after earthquake and served as a channel between donors and earthquake affected community people, furthermore involved in rebuild communities from the effects of the quake. Good Neighbors accomplished successful fruition through various projects; distribution relief items, providing medical service and tents for earthquake victims, construction shelters for displaced people and building public school.
In order to improve the quality of education for vulnerable people in our project area, GNH seeks a person who can perform the educational project with professionalism and highly efficiency manner.
Fonctions
Main Functions and Responsibilities:
• Implement, Monitor, Evaluate currently running educational project and planned project
• Keep a track of projects timeline and reports to supervisor and country director
• Empower Community Development Projects related teacher, students, parents and volunteers to participate the designed educational program
• Submit every report in English with timely manner
• Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders, including consortium forums and commissioning bodies to deliver effective education partnerships.
• Design and Conduct training courses for CDP counter partners.
• Deliver the collation of relevant documentation, statistics and financial information necessary for the submission of proposal.
• Make correct databases for monitoring and recording educational related activities in English.
• Maintain education project and program of each CDP Beneficiary Database.
• Coordinate project related material purchase and delivery
• Provide regular feedback, report to supervisor and participate in team meetings
Qualifications Requises
Skills and Experience
Bachelor degree in Education, Social science with at least 3 years of progressively professional and practical experience in managing education programs at higher level within the international development sector
Practical experience in management of personnel, strategic planning, financial planning and control systems as well as the ability to contribute to a team building environment.
Ability to demonstrate expected performance in diverse contexts, potentially challenging environments and physical demanding conditions with limited resources.
Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively and build relationships at all levels, regarding less of cultural and language differences.
Ability to lead teams and community members building and conflict resolution processes.
Excellent skills in written and spoken English and the capacity to communicate often complex and sensitive issues to a wide audience.
Working knowledge of rural /slum area is strong advantage
An understanding of child protection issues and of the impact of violence and displacement upon children and communities.
Full computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to drive the manual and automatic car.
