Job vacancy for Senior Logistic officer
Good Neighbors International is a humanitarian non-governmental organization, whose mission is to improve the lives of others—especially those of children—through education, community development, health services, sanitation, and disaster relief projects.
Good Neighbors was granted General Consultative Status with the UN ECOSOC in 1996 and also we were acknowledged its contribution and granted the ‘MDGs (Millennium Development Goals) Award by the United Nations in 2007.
Good Neighbors opened its field office for Haiti in January 2010, in response to the earthquake that devastated Haiti, in January of that year. We rapidly launched emergency relief aid after earthquake and served as a channel between donors and earthquake affected community people, furthermore involved in rebuild communities from the effects of the quake. Good Neighbors accomplished successful fruition through various projects; distribution relief items, providing medical service and tents for earthquake victims, construction shelters for displaced people and building public school.
GNH is looking for the logistic officer to perform effective procurement and logistical support required for the implementation of GNH projects and support services in Haiti.
Fonctions
Main Functions and Responsibilities:
• Design and implement a sustainable procurement and logistics plan for the efficient and effective way.
• Perform the proper control and operation of all logistics requirements for the GNH Head office and community development projects and support services.
• Documenting all list of existed inventory items and report monthly basis to AD manager.
• Submit every report in English with timely manner
• Manage and maintain office properties and belonging with systematic tags and list properly and keep a track of suppliers delivery and placement.
• Assist the Supervisor /Program Officers with logistics planning, and arrangements facilitating efficient clearance, storage and distribution of supplies and equipment to end-users from ports of entry and warehouses.
• Undertake field visits to project sites to inventory and monitor supply inputs. Propose corrective actions to improve logistical procedures. Prepare trip report to AD manager.
• Deliver the collation of relevant documentation, statistics and other information to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Maintain supply monitoring system, and prepare the supply status reports required for budget reviews, program analysis, annual reports, etc.
Qualifications Requises
Skills and Experience
Bachelor degree in management or accounting
Practical experience in management of logistics, strategic planning, financial planning and control systems as well as the ability to contribute to a team building environment.
Ability to demonstrate expected performance in diverse contexts, potentially challenging environments and physical demanding conditions with limited resources.
Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively and build relationships at all levels, regarding less of cultural and language differences.
Ability to lead teams and community members building and conflict resolution processes.
Excellent skills in written and spoken English and the capacity to communicate often complex and sensitive issues to a wide audience.
Full computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to drive the manual and automatic car and basic knowledge about vehicle maintenance.
