The Education Specialist will be responsible for coordinating formal and non-formal educational services of the project delivered by implementing partner organizations in targeted areas. Educational services in the project primarily refer to referrals made to existing projects and service providers that insert children into formal education, that offer accelerated learning programs in formal or non-formal settings, or that offer other non-formal educational services reaching thousands of children and youth annually. The Education Specialist will put in place and manage a process to ensure that educational referrals are made and monitored (ensuring that participants actually receive the services referred to), that school enrollment is tracked, and that children receiving educational services are not engaging in child labor. All of these activities will need to be implemented in a broad geographical area with utmost attention to detail and accountability to ensure validity of data and interventions.

• Review and revise the strategy for delivering educational services in the project in a high-quality, decentralized, and well-monitored way.
• Lead the mapping and data management of educational service providers in targeted areas.
• Design an approach to ensure that local implementing partners are providing high-quality educational services to target beneficiaries of the project in a well-coordinated and monitored way.
• Train local implementing partners in the educational referral and monitoring system.
• Make field visits to monitor implementation of the educational referral and monitoring system and provide technical assistance to partners on-the-job and through training on improvements to the system.
• Advise management on developments in the educational services of the project and make recommendations for trouble-shooting these developments.
• Liaise to and coordinate with other educational projects and service providers in Haiti to ensure coordination and to leverage learning and resources.
• Participate in technical working groups, events, and representational activities related to the educational services of the project.

• Minimum of three years of experience in a leadership position responsible for developing and tracking education interventions and the technical aspects related to the project strategy, including student assessment, teacher training, educational materials/curriculum development, educational management, and educational monitoring and information systems, as applicable.
• Experience in basic and secondary education projects.
• Understanding of child labor issues, including special educational needs of children removed from chill abo when they enter/return to school.
• Experience working with vulnerable children and their households, preferably in the North, North East, and Border Areas of Haiti.
• Experience working successfully with the Ministry of Education and other government agencies, and networks of educators.
• Fluent in English, French, and Creole
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills as well as good judgment and vision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to the Agency's mission and strategy
