The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a United States based not-for-profit organization which is registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO). UMCOR has a long operational history in Haiti. Across all its programming (livelihoods; water, sanitation and hygiene; and shelter and reconstruction), UMCOR Haiti supports community engagement. This involves extensive community-based consultation and participation as well as close coordination among project partners including the Government of Haiti (GoH) and donor partners. The overarching objective of UMCOR Haiti’s efforts is to support the Government of Haiti (GoH) in implementing sustainable post-earthquake reconstruction and development. The UMCOR Haiti Strategy which covers the period 2013-2017 takes into account Haiti’s development challenges pre-earthquake yet focuses on reconstruction and projects adequate for reconstruction given the changes in context, content, and focus of the Government of Haiti’s (GoH) “Build Back Better” agenda.
Fonctions
The Information Technology Support (IT) will be required to work 40 hours per week, with flexible of working hours during the week. The Information Technology Support (IT) will assist in implementing UMCOR’s short and long term program System in Haiti under guidance of the Senior Operations Manager
Responsibilities and duties are, but not limited to, the following:
Carryout and maintain a detailed inventory of all computerized equipment including Computers, printers projectors, cell phones, routers etc.
Assess equipment inventory reliability and propose a replacement plan based on their age and status.
Set up and management of a LAN which may include a central file location for storage and sharing within the organization.
Set up, rollout and maintain an intranet system services for online sharing files between the different offices in UMCOR.
Train UMCOR staff in the use of the intranet services.
Training to UMCOR staff about general usage of equipment’s care and safety practices to avoid viruses and damage of equipment.
Advise management of best specifications for new equipment to be bought.
Set up a backup system which involves minimum or no user intervention to ensure information safety.
Install new applications and operating system to existing and new equipment as needed.
Configure equipment for user.
Maintenance and repair of computers and printers. Prepare and perform a schedule of maintenance of equipment in Port au Prince and in Cabaret offices.
Recommend an Antivirus package for use in all UMCOR equipment in order to find uniform software to be used in all computers. A global license will be bought in order to minimize costs.
Provide proper support for employees in case IT issues when they occur and Troubleshoot IT problems
Provide a monthly report about the office IT equipment including location, status, and reporting any issues resolved during the month.
Perform any task related to Information Technology available in UMCOR office that is not detailed in here.
Qualifications Requises
Minimum of associate degree in IT Management or/and related relevant field
3 to 5 years experience of working with NGOs or other assistance agencies in a Similar position
Environment Windows XP, win7, win8, win server 2008 or more
Program MS Office, Adobe etc
Excellent verbal communications and proficiency in oral French and Creole. English is compulsory.
High degree of organizational skill.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
