Introduction

Chemonics seeks deputy chief of party candidates and technical specialists for an anticipated USAID-funded early grade reading program. This program aims to improve reading and writing skills in Haitian Creole and French for 100 million children in primary grades in the development corridors of Cap Haitien, Saint Marc, and Port-au-Prince. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world


Fonctions

Learning Assessment Advisor
o Role:
 Analyze, develop, pilot, and adapt the appropriate set of monitoring and evaluation tools to assess progress in reading and writing acquisition in Haitian Creole and French.
 Develop simplified instruments to measure reading and writing progress that maintain key measurements.
 Facilitate the implementation of reading and writing assessments (both formal and classroom-based) for grades 1-4.
 Use assessment results to improve the assessment model as well as inform trainer, teacher, and student materials.
 Build capacity of local education institutions to conduct assessment activities in early grade reading.


Qualifications Requises

o Qualifications:
 Undergraduate degree in education, monitoring and evaluation, assessment, or related subject.
 At least 7 years of experience designing and implementing classroom-based and formal assessments in reading and writing.
 Experience using lot quality assurance sampling (LQAS) approaches to monitoring.
 Early Grade Reading Assessment experience is preferred.
 Fluency in French and Haitian Creole required, English preferred.
