Introduction

Chemonics seeks deputy chief of party candidates and technical specialists for an anticipated USAID-funded early grade reading program. This program aims to improve reading and writing skills in Haitian Creole and French for 100 million children in primary grades in the development corridors of Cap Haitien, Saint Marc, and Port-au-Prince. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world


Fonctions

Teacher Training Specialist
o Role
 Design both pre-service and in-service teacher training curriculum for early grade reading in Haitian Creole and French.
 Advise project staff on monitoring and coaching teachers in early grade reading and writing instruction to improve learning outcomes.
 Lead analysis of the factors that affect teacher preparation and professional development to produce highly effective programs, with success measured by impact on student learning outcomes.
 Liaise with MENFP and EFACAP to ensure the review and revision of teacher training methods.


Qualifications Requises

o Qualifications
 Graduate degree in education, education planning, curriculum and materials development, training, or related subject.
 Knowledge of Haiti’s education structure (including of the MENFP)
 Experience with teacher professional development program design and implementation for curriculum and materials development; active learning methods; learning materials in low-resource environments; and mentoring and capacity-building of teachers
 Fluency in French and Haitian Creole required, English preferred.
