Introduction

Chemonics seeks deputy chief of party candidates and technical specialists for an anticipated USAID-funded early grade reading program. This program aims to improve reading and writing skills in Haitian Creole and French for 100 million children in primary grades in the development corridors of Cap Haitien, Saint Marc, and Port-au-Prince. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world


Fonctions

Teacher Monitoring and Coaching Specialist
o Role
 Develop and implement a professional development module on classroom coaching and in-school support for teachers.
 Develop, oversee, and coordinate planning and implementation of strategies to improve teacher coaching and mentoring.
 Manage efforts to ensure that a practical and effective mechanism is used for coaching and mentoring in teaching national early grade reading acquisition.
 Develop tools and resources to support the training and supervision of teacher professional development coaches.
 Conduct field visits to observe coaches, conduct assessments on coaching techniques, and design follow up visits for support, as needed.
 Work with the MENFP to facilitate the development of standards for classroom coaching and criteria for certifying classroom coaches.


Qualifications Requises

o Qualifications
 Graduate degree in education, education management, teacher training, or related subject.
 Minimum 10 years of experience designing, facilitating, and monitoring teacher professional development and coaching programs.
 Knowledge of the Haitian education system and teacher training/certification requirements and systems in place.
 Fluency in French and Haitian Creole required, English preferred.
