Chemonics seeks deputy chief of party candidates and technical specialists for an anticipated USAID-funded early grade reading program. This program aims to improve reading and writing skills in Haitian Creole and French for 100 million children in primary grades in the development corridors of Cap Haitien, Saint Marc, and Port-au-Prince. Fonctions
Community Engagement Specialist
o Role:
Using evidence gathered from USAID around Early Grade Reading Assessments (EGRA), develop and implement cost-effective community literacy strategies that are effective at improving the reading skills of students in grades 1-4.
Review past community engagement strategies and campaigns in Haiti as well as worldwide to inform the project’s Family and Community Literacy Support Plan.
Utilize appropriate social behavior change communications strategies to promote gender and disability-inclusive education.
Identify local organizations and build their capacity to design and implement their own literacy outreach campaigns.
Qualifications Requises
o Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in community engagement/development, education, communications, or related subject.
At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing community engagement activities to support literacy.
Knowledge of effective community literacy strategies.
Fluency in French, Haitian Creole, and English required.
