Introduction

The US Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Appui à la Valorisation du Potentiel Agricole du Nord, à la Sécurité Économique et Environnementale program (AVANSE) is a five-year, $87.8 million project designed to catalyze inclusive, sustainable economic growth in a potentially highly productive agricultural area and works to increase agricultural incomes. The program is based in Haiti’s Northern Corridor with the main project office in Cap-Haïtien.

The AVANSE Project seeks a highly motivated and skilled individual with excellent writing and editing skills (in French and English) to join its Grants and Subcontracts team. The ideal candidate will have USAID project management experience, and have a good exposure with solicitation and grants/contracts formats and structures. S/he will coordinate with teams from a variety of technical areas (agriculture, infrastructure, environment, business, and capacity building) elaborate scopes of work. The Contracts Writer/Editor will also support the full administration of grants and subcontracts in terms of training and reporting.


Fonctions

The Technical Writer/Editor/Translator is responsible for the following tasks, but not limited to:

• Assist the team in the drafting of solicitation and award documents
• Develop Terms of Reference, Scopes of Work and Program Descriptions in coordination with technical staff.
• Edit and translate existing documents, reports, and contracts into English or French
• Document the solicitation and selection processes in various reports, in both French and English
• Coordinate translations of highly technical documents (i.e. related to Infrastructure)
• Assist in the development of application forms in Haitian Creole
• Other tasks as required.



Qualifications Requises

Qualifications:

• Fluency in Haitian Creole, French, and English language skills required.
• 5-10 years of high quality writing/editing/translating experience, preferably with grants/ contracts and other related documents.
• Exposure to USAID funded project management.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented individual experienced in managing competing priorities under tight deadlines.
• Sound business judgment and analytical/reasoning skills.
• University degree in a relevant field.

Reporting: The Technical Writer/Editor/Translator reports to the Grants and Subcontracts Manager.
