LOCATION: Port-au-Prince with possible travel to other regions

PURPOSE:
Lead strategic planning, work planning, monitoring, report writing and budgeting of Knowledge Sharing and Management Forum in Haiti to contribute to Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Deaths (EPCMD)
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Director of Programmes
Dimensions: Save the Children works in three of Haiti’s departments, reaching children and families in over 10 communes with programming in the thematic areas of education, health (including WASH), nutrition, child protection, HIV/AIDS, child rights governance and emergencies/DRR. It has a current staff complement of over 100 and $6 million budget for 2014. Save the Children is seeking candidates for a potential upcoming opportunity on health. This position is contingent on funding. The position may be based in the offices of Save the Children’s health partners.


Fonctions

Key Areas of Accountability
1. Lead strategic planning, work planning, monitoring, report writing and budgeting of Knowledge Sharing and Management Forum in Haiti to contribute to Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Deaths (EPCMD).
a) In coordination with headquarters staff, guide the development of the technical priorities and strategic plan for the project, ensuring that they contribute to the quality and coverage of activities associated with EPCMD.
b) Guide the development of and monitor implementation of the Secretariat annual work plan and budget.
c) Submit timely, high quality narrative program reports.
d) Monitor project goals and strategies; make necessary adjustments to ensure they contribute to the national and global EPCMD goals.
2. Maintain close formal and informal networking and communications with national and international government and NGO partners and stakeholders.
a) Manage all community health communications with national and international stakeholders and partners working in Haiti.
b) Represent the interests of the project and its partners in meetings with USAID and other donors and stakeholders, and report on those meetings to headquarters staff.
c) Convene regular meetings with the NGO partners to share lessons learned, disseminate information, discuss challenges, solicit feedback, etc.
d) Develop communication products and tools that support networking and information exchange that could include a website, listserv, use of social media, print materials.
3. Identify and map civil society network capacity to support efforts with increased integration of services along the continuum of RMNCH care.

a) Convene INGOs and NGOs in a series of meetings to increase shared understanding of the role of civil society in EPCMD.
b) Convene public-civil forums to foster public-private and public-civil society dialogue and problem solving around EPCMD.
c) Identify areas for cross-learning and partnerships across civil society and between civil society and government. Foster the development of collaborative activities and communities of practice for EPCMD, and build the capacity of civil society to implement these activities.
d) Support the development of harmonized curricula, job aides, or behavior change products, as prioritized by NGOs, as relevant.
e) Communicate NGO and community needs to USAID and key stakeholders, and ensure that technical advances, policy changes and other relevant information are communicated to all partners.
4. Develop a measurement, monitoring, learning and evaluation system on collective civil society actions, analyze data and present in appropriate forums.


Qualifications Requises

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 MPH or equivalent degree
 Extensive (10+) years of experience working in Haiti in community health, knowledge of and experience working in collaboration with MSPP, international and local donor agencies and program implementing organizations (NGOs). Knowledge of major RMNCH best practices (including nutrition and WASH) as well as implementation of RMNCH programs in

Haiti. Understanding of Haitian health care delivery and the role of community health workers. Demonstrated skills in collaborative engagement, program planning, knowledge management, facilitation, networking and communication.
 Experience with secretariat/technical working groups
 Experience working in integrated programming for community health
 Familiarity with USAID funded projects and reporting
 Leadership and program management skills
 Excellent writing, data collection, analysis and reporting skills.
 Clinical background/experience useful but not required.
 Fluency in Haitian Creole, French and English
 Haitian citizens strongly encouraged to apply.
