Introduction

Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit organization whose mission is to address urgent housing needs in our communities, nation and world. Habitat for Humanity regional office in Haiti has been engaged in the field for more than 30 years providing housing services to the people in need. Four years after the earthquake Habitat for Humanity Haiti has provided transitional and upgradable shelters to more than 4,000 families, has repaired and rehabilitated more than 350 houses, has conducted more than 12,000 damage assessments and has built 300 permanent core houses. More than 4,450 Haitians have been trained through Habitat Haiti’s main offices and Habitat Resource Centers and more than 700 Haitians have found job opportunities. Habitat for Humanity Haiti has served overall 50,000 families in Haiti.

Habitat for Humanity Haiti is looking for an experience Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Officer for redevelopment projects based in the Port au Prince metropolitan area. The MEL Officer who works under the supervision of the Associate Director of Programs is in charge of the design and implementation of all program monitoring, evaluation and learning systems. We are looking for energetic individuals with previous experience working in neighborhood rehabilitation programs.


Fonctions

- Design and maintain the standard reporting forms, data tables, graphs, and charts as indicated in the work plan
- Working with the Program Manager determine the performance measures most appropriate and useful to the project and most relevant to effective program management
- Conduct supervisory visits to field sites to observe, monitor, and provide guidance and support to ensure that quality data is collected and analyzed regularly and effectively.
- Draft weekly, monthly, quarterly progress reports and end-of-projects reports that summarize accomplishments and lessons learned
- Support the development of proposals and work plans by providing historic data
- Support the communication department in producing tools for communicating the organization performance and achievements
- Coordinate learning reviews for projects and ensure that lessons learned reports are produced
- Ensure that evaluation reports are shared with key stakeholders, including beneficiaries and within the organization
- Contribute to the creation of a culture of improvement and accountability.


Qualifications Requises

- Bachelor degree in management, statistics, economics, international development or related field (Master preferred)
- Minimum 3 year experience in a senior M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities on international development projects (required)
- Experience designing and managing beneficiary monitoring database systems
- Experience coordinating learning systems
- Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis (desirable)
- Experience in the design and implementation of large scale surveys (desirable)
- Background in the management and/or implementation of US government-funded programs (desirable)
- Previous experience working in a matrix environment where core services are managed and provided by a team of experts (desirable).
