Introduction
Since 1963, ACDI/VOCA has empowered people in 145 developing and transitional nations to succeed in the global economy. Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development and food security in order to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society. ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 90 projects in 40 countries.
Fonctions
We are seeking Director of Operations candidates for an anticipated multiyear, USAID-funded agribusiness project, Support to Agricultural Research and Development Program. The project’s objective is to increase farmer’s income and resiliency in the Port-au-Prince and Saint-Marc development corridors.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise, train and mentor operational and administrative support managers and staff including HR, procurement, IT, logistics, and administrative support, to ensure achievement of their respective duties in a timely and quality manner.
• Ensure that administrative, operations and procurement functions are in compliance with the company’s Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual (PPPM), ACDI/VOCA’s Procurement Manual, USAID’s rules and regulations, and other applicable laws.
• Ensure effective coordination between administrative, operations support and program staff
• Develop, in coordination with the human resources and project managers, an effective and efficient process for the hiring, managing and mentoring of staff.
• Provide guidance on all aspects of operations for efficient project implementation and ensure that administrative and operational functions and staff continue to improve in quality and efficiency.
• Ensure efficient organization and execution of events, conferences, workshops, large general meetings, including preparation and dissemination of background documents, arrangements for lodging, catering, minute-taking, equipment use, etc.
• Oversee and ensure efficiency, effectiveness and accessibility of all basic administrative systems for the projects, including information resources, general filing, electronic filing, contracts and leases, travel, subscriptions, insurances, etc.
• Carry out other duties as specifically assigned by the COP.
Qualifications Requises
Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, International Management, or other relevant field preferred. CPA license or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in administrative and financial management of large ($10M +) international development projects.
• Demonstrated capacity to create and/or maintain financial systems and policies and procedures, particularly procurement and cash disbursement processes, for complex development projects.
