REPORTS TO: Haiti Country Director
LOCATION: Port au Prince, Haiti
REBUILD globally (RG) is a nonprofit social enterprise based in Port au Prince, Haiti, working with earthquake survivors to make sandals from upcycled tires. Our goal as an organization has three components: eco-friendly action, employing people long-term at a dignified living wage, and creating a quality product that stands out not only for its style but for its community impact. Our priority is the improved quality of life of our artisans and to ensure their continued employment through the successful growth of sales and outreach.

Fonctions

REBUILD globally’s main community development initiative is our Apprenticeship Program; a scholarship program for 20 high school students in Port au Prince. We financially support their education, and to keep the scholarship they must participate in our English, civics, art, and business courses to give them a marketable edge when they graduate. Upon the successful completion of their graduation; both from Haitian Philo (senior year), and the AP program itself, RG plans to offer the students a position on our sandal-making team. The Community Development Manager will support the existing structure, improving the administrative and financial components, and exploring new options to grow the program, and to involve RG in additional community development initiatives that stay true to our vision and mission. Performance will be assessed based on the accomplishment of these duties and responsibilities.
