Plan International, one of the world’s largest children’s NGOs, has been working in Haiti for over 40 years with children, youth aPlan International Haiti is seeking Technical Experts for an anticipated US Department of Labor (USDOL) funded program that will reduce child labor and improve rights and working conditions in the North-East Department of Haiti. We are seeking experts with experience in Child Labor and Labor Rights in Haiti.
Fonctions
• Provide technical expertise to the project in child labor reduction and/or prevention and/or labor movements.
• Lead and/or contribute to the development of project work plans, ensuring that targets are met and project outcomes are achieved
• Lead and/or contribute to the design, oversight, and monitoring of activities.
• Work closely with project staff, government entities, and other stakeholders to design and implement targeted strategies for the reduction of child labor and improved rights and working conditions in Haiti.
• Liaise with the donor and government officials as needed.
• Contribute detailed and accurate written inputs to fulfill project technical and financial reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with partners, sub-grantees, government agencies, international and local NGOs, schools, and community-based organizations on project activities as needed.
• Participate in relevant coordination meeting to present project activities, ensure coordination with other projects, and assure highest quality of project implementation
Qualifications Requises
• Master’s Degree or equivalent in relevant field (Labor Rights, International Development, Social Sciences, etc.), PhD is an asset.
• Significant experience in implementing donor-funded programs in labor rights in one or more of the following areas: child labor reduction/ prevention, education, youth, and/or labor movements;
• Prior USAID and/or Department of Labor experience preferred.
• Experience working with vulnerable girls and boys and their households, preferably in Haiti.
• Experience working successfully with Ministries of Education and other government agencies, networks of educators, employers' organizations, and trade unions or comparable entities.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement strategies that employ evidence-based approaches to meet project targets, especially under rigorous timelines.
• Experience working and collaborating with diverse sets of stakeholders, such as local partners, government officials, donor representatives, and international staff.
• Ability to respond on short notice and plan and execute several activities at once.
• Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team or independently, and meet deadlines consistently.
• Proven leadership, inter-personal and cross-cultural skills, and ability to build and motivate diverse teams
• Work experience in the Caribbean. Prior experience in Haiti highly preferred
• Fluency in French and English is required.
