Introduction
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is seeking a highly qualified Senior Accountant to be based at its Petion-Ville Office.
About Lutheran World Federation (LWF – Haiti)
Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is an international NGO working in the field of emergency and development. LWF began its program in the Caribbean in 1983 with support for refugees (Caribbean, USA) and is present in Haiti since 1997.
In Haiti, the LWF works to promote the human rights of the most vulnerable populations through humanitarian interventions and development projects including the reduction of poverty through institutional strengthening, community development, and income generating activities, gender equity and the protection of the environment.
LWF is a member of ACT Alliance and adheres to the highest international standards of accountability. LWF is, indeed, a member of the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) and is certified according to HAP 2010 standards as the SPHERE standards and those of the Steering Committee for Humanitarian Response (SCHR).
Fonctions
Selection criteria
1. Produce monthly and annual financial reports in strict compliance with set reporting deadlines.
2. Maintain books of accounts using multicurrency accounting software package. LWF uses Sage 300 ERP (Accpac) financial accounting software
3. Experience of compliance with financial and procurement procedures of a multinational organization
4. Maintenance of budgetary control mechanisms
5. Prepare supporting documentation and ensure proper coding and authorization
6. Maintain the MAIN Accpac system and database. Make updates/postings/corrections on a daily basis and in close coordination with the Finance Manager.
7. Ensure all Payment Vouchers are approved by the Finance Manager
8. Prepare the bank reconciliations
9. Assist in the internal and external audits on all grants
Qualifications Requises
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Progress towards membership of an international recognized accounting institute would be well regarded
Skills and Experiences
• Analytical, organizational, and excellent interpersonal skills
• PC computer skills in MS Word, Excel (strong Spreadsheet and modeling skills are a requisite), and PowerPoint required,
• A good level of experience in international finance management and leadership
• Grant accounting and grant compliance experience
• Experience with Sage 300 ERP
• Language skills: English and French required
