Introduction
The training specialist will identify needs of the organizations and is responsible for developing training programs to improve the performance of the organizations with whom AVANSE is working. She/he will oversee the production of training materials such as manuals, course materials, videos and other tools. She/he will conduct on-site training and supervise the training work of any firms contracted by the project to implement training.
The training specialist will keep records on the impact of existing training programs and determine what improvements should be made. She/he must regularly review the records of training sessions for AVANSE and analyze whether the sessions have helped organizations improve their performances. She/he will evaluate the effectiveness of training programs to ensure that they are appropriate and effective
Fonctions
The Training Specialist will be responsible for the following detailed tasks, but not limited to:
• Participate in initial capacity assessments.
• Identify training needs for project’s targeted area
• Organize trainers and logistics for training sessions
• Prepare training materials; support other project staff in designing training activities.
• Maintain a schedule of training activities for the project.
• Conduct training sessions and hands-on mentoring as needed
• Gather feedback from training participants and incorporate in future training activities.
• Maintain database of training activities and update data on the organizations trained.
• Ensure timely submission of all required training reports and deliverables.
• Prepare written and oral reports for both internal and external use.
• Perform other organizational duties as needed.
Qualifications Requises
• 5+ years of professional experience in design and delivery of training programs.
• Experience with USAID highly preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of relevant training and learning methodologies and technologies including virtual training
• Working knowledge of Excel
• Experience in curriculum design
• Fluency in French and Haitian Creole required, and English desired.
• A university degree in related field such as agriculture, social sciences or education highly desired.
