International NGO needs to recruit a Policy Officer
Position based in Port-au-Prince with frequent trips on the field.
Contract’s length 6 months

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIE
• Coordinate policy programs oriented towards changes in policies and practices and ensure their implementation in collaboration with the partners in line with the organisation’s approach
• Collaborate with the Manager to the realization of the strategic objectives in conjunction to the institution’s 5 year Country Strategy Paper.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIE
• Coordinate policy programs oriented towards changes in policies and practices and ensure their implementation in collaboration with the partners in line with the organisation’s approach
• Collaborate with the Manager to the realization of the strategic objectives in conjunction to the institution’s 5 year Country Strategy Paper.
• Research and monitor of national and international practices that are criticized e.g. land grabbing, industrial investments, bio fuels, etc. and provide input for policy position papers
• Contribute to identifying models and good practices for sustainable agriculture that can be used to leverage and influence national and local policies and practices on sustainable agriculture


Qualifications Requises

Essential Experience

• At least 5 years minimum working experience in the social development field at a well known institution
• Familiar with budget management
• In-depth understanding of programming issues and policy work at state, national and international levels.
• Relevant understanding of gender issues in development and demonstrable commitment to promoting gender equality within the organization and in programme work.
