Introduction
Under the direction of the Chief of Party (COP) and Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), the incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing public relations activities in PROJUSTICE Target Jurisdictions (Port-au-Prince, Saint-Marc, Croix-des-Bouquets, Cap-Haïtien and Fort-Liberté).
Fonctions
The objective is to increase project visibility by documenting (through videos/pictures, etc.) and reporting (brochures, reports specifically tailored for the public, press releases, updates to PROJUSTICE’s website) on project activities, and liaising with Haiti media. The activities to be carried out by the incumbent consist of the following:
Develop and implement outreach campaigns for project activities.
Help to supervise grants related to Haitian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) engaged in media/ outreach campaigns in support of project activities.
Develop and coordinate project publications tailored for the public.
Prepare, review, and edit news releases, newsletters, web material, reports, and publications; and, ensure they comply with USAID branding requirements.
Organize press conferences (when appropriate and approved by COP or DCOP and USAID), and draft/review speeches and presentations.
Take and/or supervise the taking of pictures and videos of project activities, with technical assistance as needed.
Draft project success stories for submission to the Home Office.
Update and manage the PROJUSTICE website, and supervises the work of the webmaster.
Participate in media interviews, if approved by the COP or DCOP.
Serve as a liaison between PROJUSTICE and community leaders and local NGO representatives.
Travel to all jurisdictions where project is located to work with staff and community leaders to achieve project objectives
Solicit news/updates/reports from field to develop offline and online content.
Present or assist in presenting factsheets on short notice if requested by USAID officials or Home Office.
Ensure that project consistently keeps updated brochures, fact sheets, and the PROJUSTICE website (as possible) with detailed information on selected activities
Coordinate and manage archived project reports of activities, outreach material, digital photos, stakeholder/beneficiary testimonials, etc.
Ensure that all project communications are in conformity with USAID branding requirements.
Collaborate with the M&E Specialist to gather data for performance monitoring reports and assist in writing reports when needed.
Draft weekly, monthly, quarterly and other reports as is needed regarding project activities.
Perform other related activities as requested by COP/DCOP.
Qualifications Requises
Qualifications/Required Skills
Five to seven years of relevant work experience.
Established contacts and relationships within local media organizations.
Good management, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with culturally and geographically diverse staff.
Fluency in English, French, and Creole.
Good writing skills with attention to details and proven ability to write for broad audiences.
Self-starter and independent, able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel to in-country field offices to conduct and supervise project activities.
Technology-literate – PC skills, MS Word, Excel, Internet.
Experience with design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
