Haitian Red Cross in collaboration with American Red Cross is looking for Microfinance Coordinator.

Location: Port-au-Prince with possibility to travel to other American Red Cross involves zones.

Objective : The Microfinance Coordinator will provide technical oversight and coordination to the implementing partner organisations and field officers in microfinance and enterprise development

Specific Responsabilities.
 Represent ARC at meetings with officials of local and national authorities;
 Serves as lead subject expert in the monitoring, planning and evaluation of microfinance programmes being implemented by partner organisations;
 Works in collaboration with partner organisations and MFI’s to lead and steward the strategic integration of financial services within the LAMIKA Programme;
 Provides advice on the development of suitable finance options (establishment of saving and loan solidarity groups, loan guarantees, risk mitigation grants and recapitalization loans);
 Conduct regular meetings with consultants and partners to discuss and resolve issues pertaining to on-going and planned projects. Prepare and disseminate meeting agendas and minutes to all concerned.
 Ensure a robust and transparent mechanism for beneficiary feedback is operational and accessible within the communities;
 Carry out periodic field visits to ensure correct beneficiary selection being adhered to and businesses receive adequate and timely support. Check progress against business plans developed and provide the necessary technical and social support where required;
 Support the linkage of newly qualified trainees to entrepreneurship services, including access to loans;
 Facilitate and maintain strong linkages and databases with other organisations operational within the neighbourhoods to ensure suitably qualified entrepreneurs are able to access financial services and training;
 Analyse market needs, develop and recommend new loan products and enhance existing loan products to meet the needs of the market, maximize potential and loan utilization and hence microfinance impact on targeted markets.
 Identify the market gaps in the provision of microcredit and work with the implementing partner to provide services to the identified areas
 Support the partner in the formulation of appropriate guidelines and procedures for the management and control of micro credit especially for credit assessment and approval process; credit administration and loan recovery.
 Continuously review loan products and associated credit policy performance and product performance, recommend changes, if any, required in line with customers’ requirements
 Work closely with the implementing partner to monitor risk exposure, portfolio composition and the adequacy of provisioning levels
 Ensure that all loan applicants comply with the criteria laid down in respective terms and conditions of the product
 Preparing monthly project reports.

Requested Qualifications
 Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, development or a degree in a related field and equivalent field experience.
 Master’s degree in microfinance, development finance or a business related subject within an urban contexe.
 At least five years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise development/microfinance/or related field.
 Proven experience in finance product development, product evaluation and community development work.
 Strong people’s skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
 Proven organizational and project management skill.
 Demonstrate ability to mentor and build capacity of team member
 Experience in market research.
 Knowledge of MS Word & EXCEL.
 Fluently in French and English.
