Job Summary
Senior Community and Youth officer has the responsibility to work day-to-day on the needs of project EVIHT and will be the primary point person for the project. He/She has to provide technical assistance to MSPP (DPSPE), NACP and MOE to develop and institutionalize a Comprehensive Life Skills curriculum into national curricula. He/She will work with a community mobilization Officer Build capacity on community mobilization for project partners in four departments of project, ensuring the set up of community mobilization activities of each implementing partners of EVITH. He/She will support the development of a HIV prevention/ Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health demonstration project in Dessalines. Work together with JHU/CCP to ensure good process to reach the objectives of projects design. Organize training session for partners.
Fonctions
Project planning and Reporting
Comprehensive sexuality Education
• Conduct a National Level CSE program and Policy review.
• Review international evidence-based CSE programs and Best Practices.
• Develop a 2 year timeline to engage key stakeholders, review existing curricula and work towards the development and institutionalization of CSE into national curricula.
• Maintain close contact with MOH (DPSPE and NACP) and MOE (School health direction).
Community Mobilization
• Support implementing’ partners in community mobilization activities.
• Conduct training session on community mobilization methodology for partners.
• Ensure the follow-up of activities of mobilization ‘activities and submit a report one week after every training’ session including the progress around community mobilization.
• Support JHU/CCP in national campaign.
• Ensure adaptation of mobilization tools to reach Key audiences identified by the project.
Dessalines Demonstration Site
• Adapt training ‘curriculum to facilitate messages for youth and conduct training for Sponsorship and ECP agents of Dessalines office.
• Provide assistance to Dessalines team to reach out school children.
• Work with community leaders, association, local authorities to promote new practices targeting social change.
Supervision/support to field workers
• Supervise Community Mobilization Officer; review work plans and ensure timely completion of program activities.
• Realize field visit to ensure quality of services for youth.
• Provide monthly activities report.
Procurement /Logistics
• Manage all resources using Procedures manual.
• Submit a monthly work plan.
• Ensure availability of Community mobilization’s materials.
Qualifications Requises
• Master or license in social sciences (Sociology, Social worker, );
• Five years minimum working in Health Education / HIV prevention/ Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health/Behavior change communication;
• Three(3) years of experience providing technical assistance to public structure;
• Knowledge of Word, Excel;
• Willingness to work and travel to field offices on a regular basis;
• Good interpersonal capacities of communication;
• Good capacities to work in team;
• Fluency in French and Creole, English a plus.
