Job Summary
The Early Reading coordinator will work to strengthen the training component of the Quality Education Initiative (QEI) in preschools and primary schools, with a particular focus on the expanded early reading program.
She/he will increase the capacity of SC Education Team, to provide quality training and mentor the school partners. She/he will provide technical guidance and support in regards to the piloting of the new materials for Lekti se Lavni , Lire c’est l’Avenir and the community component Ti Bourad pou li avek plezi.

• Design, develop and implement the trainings modules for the education sector (basic education and ECD) as whole in a timely and efficient way.
• Assist external expert in the design, development and implementation of trainings related to the early reading program and as needed.
• Analyze training plan propositions developed by training officers from Field Offices and develop one training plan per school year for the Education Sector as a whole.
• Support the Training Officers in West Department, Jacmel and Dessalines field offices in the design, development and implementation of trainings.
• Provide comprehensive support and develop needed training materials and tool for the roll out of Lekti se Lavni and Lire c’est l’avenir, including the new component for the 2nd grade and the pre-school grades
• Develop modules and training materials as needed to strengthen the piloting of the community component of the early reading program called Ti Bourad pou li avec plezi
• Train SC training officers and other SC education team members to implement new modules developed for the early reading program or any other modules as needed.
• Undertakes regular field visits in partner schools and preschools and provides timely feedback on QEI progress, challenges, gaps and lessons learned.
• Attend Lekti Se Lavni and Lire c’est l’avenir sessions in partner schools and provide guidance and timely feedback to SC education teams to strengthen the implementation of the early reading program.
• Develops, sustains and strengthens partnerships with relevant Technical Directorates and Department at the MENFP such as DEF, BUGEP, DAEEP, DCQ, DFP.
• Organize regular meetings with Training Officers in Country Office and Field Offices to share training initiatives, lessons learned and best practices in order to harmonize the training initiatives within the SC Education Sector in Haiti.
• Participates and contributes to the work and coordination efforts of the MENFP early reading platform.


Qualifications Requises

• Master degree in Education/Child Development or equivalent;
• At least 10 years of working experience in Education program including at minimum 2 years work experience in early reading program;
• 5 years experience with developing program materials and trainings for Basic Education and ECD;
• Ability to work independently;
• Willingness to work and travel to field offices on a regular basis;
• Good interpersonal capacities of communication;
• Good capacities to work in team;
• Fluency in French and Creole, English a plus.
