SOS CHILDREN VILLAGE is an international non profit organisation that the mission is a loving home for every child. In Haiti, we operate in three departments ( Port-au-Prince; Cap-Haitien- Cayes ). The overall of the programes is to provide support to children and families in Haiti whilst developing longer term sustainable solutions to the comunities.We take actions for children as an independent non-governmental social development organisation.We respect varying religions and cultures.We work in the spirit of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
With the SOS Children's Village concept, our organisation pioneered a family

Fonctions
The objective of the Communication Coordinator is to strengthen the internal and external communication of the organisation in Haiti and with its international structures
Qualifications Requises
• Advanced studies in communication
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in communications (news, PR, publicity etc.)
• Very good communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Basic skills in photography and picture-editing (photoshop or similar)
• Technical skills for the production of footage material is an asset
• Good knowledge of Creole, French, Spanish and English
• Computer literacy, including an ability to use a word processor and the internet (content management systems)
• Ability to work individually or in a team, in a flexible, multicultural and interdisciplinary environment
• Profound concern for vulnerable communities and particularly for families and children
• Write articles, news, reports and portraits on activities and beneficiaries of the organisation
• Produce and design paper newsletters & magazines and help ensure distribution
• Improve the visibility of the brand of the organisation
• Help organise events and promotion of these events
• Document the programmes through multimedia: video and photos
• Build up a network of public relations and maintain contacts
• Provide information on programmes and activities in the form of texts, photos and footage material for the international network of the organisation
• Respond to internal media requests from other communication departments within the organisation
• Help conceive and administer a new website and blogs
• Help implement strategic objectives and actions of the communications department of the national office
• Perform research regarding topics related to child welfare, child rights and community development

Conditions de travail
The Communication coordinator will be located at the national office at P-AU-P with some travels in Cap-Haitien and Cayes if it's necesary; and overseas.
